Well Fjay and others I had some serious snow / ice yesterday as I drove up to Buffalo. I was 2 hours and change into my trip just South and east of Binghamton when the roads got REAL bad with no salt, no plows the road was untouched and white and I saw numerous cars on the other side ( which was being plowed ) go off the road and even saw a pretty bad crash involving a police car / state trooper. While I was heading down a huge steep incline / mountain my truck began to slide down hill, my foot was off the gas for a while and I can't tell you how fast I was sliding or how far I slid or how exactly I kept it on the road as the breaks were useless and I just used the steering as best I could.Sill not sure how I did not wind up in the divider or not hit a guard rail or keep the car relatively straight. Easily the scariest situation I have EVER been involved in while in a car in the snow and I have driven too many times to count in bad snowstorms.
FJay you are correct------> Sunday into Monday could be our first snowstorm of the year the models are showing it .
How many inches are we talking about? Enough for a snow day? My boys can't wait for a snow day actually.
Brook wayyyyyyyyyyy too early to talk about amounts ( and anyone who does is flat out lying ) as tomorrows storm will effect what happens Sunday if anything and there are a few moving parts to Sunday , still 5 days away lots can happen or NOT happen. PS even if this storm is a total miss for everyone else I believe it still stalls over your house and buries you = lol
Euro north gfs south. Both agree that there will be a storm, disagree on who gets snow. Lots to watch, I think a clearer picture after Wednesday . potential here though. Be excited.

Fjay --> these damn weather models ! I think the outcomes/ solutions will change probably from run to run and I think as usual they are having a hard time with the dynamics of this Sunday / Monday but I could be wrong. Might have to wait until 48 hours away to have a better idea and even then they will probably all disagree. Lets see how it plays out
Gfs was really buying in last nite, 6z run not so much.. I think the rest of the day will show a warmer ,wetter solution. I thought the 00z euro still looked ok for us. System is just coming on shore tonight so better into tonight and tomorrow morning
Well yesterdays model runs were looking warmer and wetter BUT SINCE THEN the Ukie the Euro and some others look colder with a better chance of snow or frozen precipitation for MANY-----> still time for things to change lets see what the Turkey Day model runs say
FJAY overnight rus were our friend ( colder ) and today the models have still trended in a good way-------this thing could be colder and move farther South than advertised. I agree it might be be frozen but when do the models ever see frozen precipitation accurately 3 days in advance ? I think the short term models could be playing catchup with the dynamics, damn right now it appears to me that WE ALL need to watch this thing there is a shitload of energy and looks like inland areas should definitely be paying attention.If it trends farther south I think EVERYONE might have to start paying attention,,,but there is time for this to change just my thoughts ps where the hell is batman when we need him ?
Heads up people Euro and other models have all shifted South today = SNOW and if this is accurate I am even talking NYC gets snow --> IF this was not 3 days away I would be real excited and say lock it in BUT there is still time for changes. The Jayster used to say trends trends trends and right now if you like snow the trend is our friend.The local weather guys on TV should be all over this soon if not already. This is starting to look very legit but again 3 days away.
Brook still 3 days away but IF IF IF this was 24 hours away I would be much more confident as there is still time for a lot to change. Tell the kids that a 5 day weekend is looking MUCH better right now than it was a few days ago

I don’t like to do this but I’m high on tryptophan and feeling good. I guarantee your kids a 2 hour delay Monday at a minimum. You tell the kids, worst case scenario they are going in late Monday.
