I don't have a problem with backups being allowed to play. I looked at the 2002 Temple one. They could have taken a knee there and if college football was set up like the NFL, they probably would have. But again, if margin of victory was part of the BCS calculations in 2002, then taking a knee would have been asinine. Perhaps you have shown WVU ran up the score. I still haven't looked at all those links due to a Christmas party last night and being busy this morning and then watching all the NFL action. For argument's sake, if we get to a point where I agree that WVU has run up the score in some games, the next debate would be how bad it is to run up the score. I don't have the same issues with teams running up the score as you do. I have never had a problem with it in college football. It is harder to deal with it in the NFL, basketball, and baseball.
I have a problem when a team is throwing up 45-3. Let him play but let him hand off. The temple game had nothing to do w/ the BCS as they already had 3 losses at that point in the season and had no shot at a BCS bowl.
Yeah, that is right. hmy: That may have been the dumbest thing I ever wrote here. I suppose I was drunk off the Jets and Titans wins. Yes, they were not in the BCS picture. However, they still were playing for a top 25 ranking and 46-20 looks better than 39-20. Weeks after the Temple win, West Virginia was ranked. This is what I'll do chiefly because it is a busy week with the holidays and I'd rather focus on NFL stuff- I'll concede the argument in regards to WVU, even though I have not yet looked at all the examples. If any WVU fan reading this wants to take over for me, go ahead. I never heard about Rodriguez running up the score or any opponents complaining and neither did I see WVU run up the score. It is hard to stay on one of their games when they are winning big in the 4th quarter and there are about 5 or 6 other games I could watch. So that is why I was looking for an explanation. That part of it is done. The other part is that I don't have a problem with college football teams running up the score. I didn't have a problem when Steve Spurrier was being accused of doing. In other words, even if WVU runs up the score, I still don't have a problem with it.
