Hockey is back! Training Camp starts tomorrow as well as the release of NHL 20! Can't wait for this season to begin. So many different story lines. Both conferences seem wide open to me. Will the Tampa Bay Lightning bounce back? Is this the Capitals last stand? Will the Rangers and Islanders take the next step? Can the Blues repeat? How good will the Devils be? Should be a fun season. My super early Stanley Cup Final Prediction: Capitals-Golden Knights Part 2. Same result. What do you guys think? Excited for the season? I’m pumped as well, even though hockey doesn’t start to get serious until January/ February. I have the Blues and Boston back in the finals. Goaltending for the Blues has not changed and they are still a very hungry team. Boston just has great balance and will be hard to beat. Islanders still lack major offensive power to get past second round, not enough finishers. Devils will be very strong as well, Rangers will be a little more dangerous but not a threat. Capitals will have to face the decline of Alexander the Great at some point and I believe it starts this year.
Russian Machine never breaks. The real issue is Holtby and Backstrom on the final year of their deals. No way both can return for the 2020-21 season. That is why I feel this could be the last stand or realistic championship run for this core. Hey, it has been a great run, but the end is near. Another factor is the East and Metro continues to get stronger. It will be tough from top to bottom. Makes it exciting! I almost wrote this in the original post. Decided not to. I will remain positive for at least a couple more weeks. This off-season felt much longer to me.
Bought NHL 20 for the Xbox one and love it, had to create Kakko, Kratsov, Fox and Shesty, couldn't find them in the game
I have played a couple games so far. The game play is more fun this year and losing the affiliation with NBC was fine with me. The graphics look good. I like it! Other news: Capitals Center Evgeni Kuznetsov has been SUSPENDED 3 games for his cocaine use over the Summer. Kind of odd. I expected something like 10 games or 0 games. Oh well.
Can't believe hockey is already back. This Wednesday the defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues host the 2018 Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals. Cool way to kick off the season. Caps will be without Cokenetsov for 3 games though.

Yeah, definitely a fun game. The Canes have the Caps number at the moment. That Caps-Canes game felt like we were back in April again! Cap controlled most of the beginning, then the Canes hung around, chipped away, and eventually found a way to win in OT. I have seen that before!
After that Yankees ALCS and Pats-Jets game last night, all I can say is........... LET'S GO CAPS!!!!!!!!!!! They are all I have left!
Great ending to Caps-Panthers last night. Holtby with the monster save, and then Wilson gives the Caps the win. Great start to the season for the Capitals!
The Blues are sizzling hot, Capitals are not going to be caught unless injuries come into play. Islanders still lack scoring punch, The Rangers are going to surprise everyone as I believe they will turn things around as season goes along.
