I think I'm going to calm down with the Adam Gase hate for now. He has done really well these past 2 weeks and his game plan today was spot on. 71 points in two games with A LOT of holes and injuries.
Um, not sure that’s allowed. Gase is only responsible for the bad. The good is in spite of him. That’s the rules.
If Gase manages to get this team to 7-9 or 8-8 I would be impressed considering the injuries and owuld give me some hope going into next year. I'll gladly eat crow
Yeah sure if he always looks the way he did the last two games. But the previous games count too. And overall, the offense has been really bad, and 11 TDs to 10 INTs isn't going to cut it. Fortunately, the last three games are against the Ravens, Steelers, and Bills. So Gase won't end on a high note unless he actually deserves it.
Here is how I see it = you take the Wins , yes they count and you can enjoy the wins but in the IMO Gase is not the answer just like Bowels was not the answer. You hope and Pray that Joe Douglas is the answer and a Good GM but most of us knew that Mac was not the answer. IMO it is inevitable that Gase will be fired and just because he wins a few games regardless of the opponent is not the reason to keep him. He should be judged by how he and the team performs in ALL THE GAMES he coaches and yes also how Darnold improves or implodes in the process. Its only a matter of time but again IMO Gase will be fired and the sooner the better
That's not what I said. I said it would suck if Gase is not actually good and Sam doesn't develop but an ultra soft schedule tricks people into thinking the opposite. And then we keep Gase and get blasted next season. I have higher standards than that.
The reality is we looked like crap with an ultra hard schedule and a decimated roster including Sam who was likely sick in the game one loss to the Bills. Gase did a great job against a good Dallas team getting max effort. Nobody around here is getting tricked into thinking Gase is actually good. Most of the people around here had their minds made up that Gase sucked the day he was hired. Why do you think we're posting in a go fund me thread to get Gase fired?
Here's one fun fact for you. None of the Jets coaches since Kotite started their tenure with a losing season. Gase is surely on his way... 1997: Parcells (9-7) 2000: Groh (9-7) 2001: Edwards (10-6) 2006: Mangini (10-6) 2009: Ryan (9-7) 2015: Bowles (10-6) But Gase already has 3 wins in 10 games. Wow! The bar is pretty low after missing the playoffs for the past 9 seasons.
My point is that "already has 3" is nothing to brag about even though they won 4 entire last season. All of Gase's predecessors did better.
no, Parcells and Groh quit on the Jets, I guess that makes them exempt. But all those other guys went 4-12 as Jets head coaches. I suspect Gase will beat that 4 win mark before this year is over
If we are hoping or getting excited about winning more than 4 games something is very wrong = when we brought in the qb whisperer people were delusional and were sayin 10 and 11 wins and " playoffs" now we are happy with less than a half dozen ? Bar has been extremely low for a long time in Jet land = thanks Woody
With the Jets, mediocrity and subpar performances are the accepted norms. Expecting anything more from this long running clusterfuck, and you're setting yourself up for a beating.
Panthers owner David Tepper, frustrated by latest loss, says he won't accept long-term mediocrity The Johnsons, on the other hand....
