Did they seriously waste 6 seconds becore calling timeout? I need to look into the economics of that someday. How does a relegated team not immediately go bankrupt from the loss of revenue?
It's a bit of a double edged sword. On one hand, you're supposed to play to win. But on the other, one of the reason there haven't been any dramatic changes to this time for the past 10+ years is that we've never been the worst. Below average, bad, even very bad sometimes, but always in the bottom 10, and only occasionally in the bottom 5. Unfortunately, nothing is going to happen until we hit rock bottom. I'm afraid that if we go 4-12, the Johnsons will think of it as holding steady. If we go 5-11 or 6-10, it's going to be Bowles all over again: It's bad, but not as bad as we feared, and therefore, good. Thus, let's keep doing what we're doing. So, as much as I'd like to see the Jets win today, I can't help but wonder if these wins are hurting us in the long run.
I'm enjoying this game but the truth is Washigton is a dumpster fire and Haskins is what I thought he was...a college QB.
