The Jets are his employer and this is his job. He is getting paid and if wants to continue to get paid you do what you are supposed. Just about everybody in life will suffer consequences if you do not show up to work and do not let someone know beforehand. This is a non story. I used to like Q but seeing this cry baby shit - don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
Did you read his reasoning? Taking his veteran wife out to celebrate veterans day. A family emergency. A guy who potentially has a second career ending neck injury and our franchise fines him for those days? Give me a fuckin break.
I get both sides here. On one hand, how hard is it to coordinate beforehand for missed rehab appts, expected obligations, etc? Not that hard. On the other hand-- why is your employee so shocked and surprised, not only of the expectations of him, but of the penalties. Lack of communication? Or just a case of indisipline? Smells a little weird but we're only getting one account of the situation in these tweets.
Remember this gem? I think I know what the problem is, and it isn't Kelechi Osemele, Luke Falk, Brian Winters, Avery Williamson, CJ Mosley, Quincy Enunwa, etc...
Then again, Gase is the guy who left his wife on the operating table after her C-section so he could meet with Peyton Manning. So this isn't surprising really.
Is this Gase or Douglas (or both) that would be pulling this bullshit? They are going out of their way to lose the locker room at this point. And why not? No one is holding them accountable. You don't play games with injured vets who can't play. Good luck signing FA's..
Gase is the one with the history of this shit, but as far as I'm concerned, Douglas is also guilty. This is his organization too.
Jets are correct here. You missed your job, especially when you didn’t communicate beforehand. What if any of us just skipped work to go out to eat and didn’t say anything to anyone? Quincy is a millennial, that’s all this is.
Looks like he took a 4 day weekend to me. Could have taken his wife out for dinner or breakfast. He didn’t tweet “family emergency” he said emergency at my house - sound more like a water heater or some shit (if true). Just plain irresponsible.
I like Q but no call no show is inexcusable in any profession. There’s no reason why he couldn’t call /text before hand.
Thread title is misleading. Jets are 100% right here. Q sure as well wants that paycheck deposited on time each week i bet though. Hopefully he has to retire and we get out of that contract / cap hit somehow
Sounds pretty premeditated too that he had an emergency at the house after conveniently. I'd imagine he's looking for that last payout injury settlement.
Am I the only one whose main concern is that Qunicy is posting FROM THE FUTURE!?!?!?!?!? *Nevermind. The posts all said November 15th, for a little while, then updated and now say November 14th.... Also, I'm easily distracted.*
He's on IR, with a fair chance he'll never be able to play again. It's more like you being on disability after being a model employee, not checking in one day on a holiday weekend, and getting hit with a fat fine for it. It's in bad taste by the organization, and sends the wrong message.
Except it's not. Being on IR doesn't absolve you from coming to work and is no way the same as being on disability. But if you want to make the comparison, it's like spraining your ankle and not being able to do physical labor so they sit you at a desk to work on paperwork when you're laid up and you no show from work.
