10 weeks in already? Time flies...or in the case of the Jets, 8 more weeks of this nonsense? Christ... Anyway, first up, TNF Chargers @ Raiders. 4-5 vs 4-4, but I couldn't care less about either team so it's another 'nope' from me. Everyone else, enjoy the game.
NFL is so inconsistent with its calls. In the last drive on a 4th down they called a hold against Raiders which kept the game alive for LA. Then on the following play the Raiders clearly got away with a pass interference, they knocked the receiver down before the ball was there, and it would have put LA in FG position. Then on 4th down Philip Rivers was directly hit in the fast mask right after he released the ball, nothing was called. Meanwhile the Jets had about 10 straight plays against Dallas at the end where they threw flags, its just so inconsistent across the league.
I’m not a huge Gruden fan and I thought the Mayock hire was going to be a shitshow but, in all fairness, it looks like most of their draftees are contributing. Ours, meanwhile...
You have that backwards. Last nights game was terrific. You need to watch good football to understand just how bad Jets football actually is.
Good point Biggs but my NFL love started with Jets and when Jets aren't in it I don't enjoy NFL in general. I switch to soccer. Instead of last night's game I watched a comedy movie with my kids. I am sure I wouldn't enjoy the game if I watched it.
I saw a stat somewhere when looking at the Raiders boards to see where they are, that the Raiders are top 5 in rookie snaps this year. The Raiders draft grades were HORRIBLE last year, along with many crucifying the Kolton Miller selection, who shut out Joey Bosa yesterday. Josh Jacobs had little run at Alabama and is an absolute stud and a great character player. Clelin Ferrell looked to be a reach but he and fellow rookie Crosby dominated yesterday's game. I'll admit. I thought the Gruden project was going to be an absolute disaster. His past IS overrated as he's a .500 coach but he and Mayock are assembling a good roster with players that play damn hard for him. I think it was Steve Young on PTI yesterday that said it well yesterday. Gruden isn't going to run all the flashy motions and jet sweeps and crap that the Rams do with McVay. But he's a good play calling and a good football coach. And at it's core, that's what's important.
Gruden is surprising me this year as well. I am actually rooting for Raiders to make the play offs this year. Knock on wood if you are with me.
KC marches down the field on the opening drive behind Mahomes. Josh Allen with a terrible pass on fourth down and the ball goes back to Cleveland, which is up 6-0.
Browns go for it on fourth-and-goal from the 1 and don't come close. Eight plays from inside the 2-yard line and they get nothing. Still 6-0.
Browns fail again on first-and-goal inside the 5, with a false start on frouth down leading to the FG instead of TD. Browns still up 9-7.
Jarvis Landry is yelling at Baker on the sideline. It's gonna implode when they lose today. 9 plays from the 2 or better; 3 points off it. On another note, the Titans continue to be an absolute pest of a team to play. Down 10-0, they've scored 13 unanswered vs. The Chiefs.
Kitchens is the biggest moron I've ever seen. 16 seconds left on the clock in their own end on the 21 yard line and he keeps calling timeouts then running up the gut on the following play. Like he's gambling with his players health praying he hits on an 80 yard run..
At least 5 missed extra points around the league today. Kicking has really gotten worse in the last year or two, but no idea why.
Baker sacked for the safety after freezing on a 3-step drop, making it 9-9. Lamar Jackson is by far the best of the QBs from last year - none of the others seem to be worth a damn.
