Prediction: this is the last game Chad Pennington starts as QB of the New York Jets.

The Vikings front 7 will come at Pennington with the vigor of a playground bully, and as usual he will fold..

    Pennington stats

    8/26 0 TD 4 INT

I don't think even the biggest Pennington hater could expect him to go only 8/26... Like we will dump the ball off for 2 yard gains if we can't stop the passrush. That's just a blind un-objective prediction right there....

You do realize Minnesota has a great run D and a crappy pass D...

Even the Jets have more sacks than Minny...

It's time to admit you don't know anything about the Jets and actually hate our team.

Even someone as myself that thinks we need some very real improvement wouldn't predict Pennington's last start as this Sunday. First, Chad has updays when the offense clicks. This could be one. And secondly, I think you greatly underestimate the admiration that Chad is receiving.

Without Pennington we are a 6-7 win team. With him we are a 9-10 win team. Enough said. Out of respect for the amount of work Pennington put in to come back from two shoulder surguries he should finish off this season. This guy has worked too hard to come back to stick him on the bench so Clemmens can get one game's worth of snaps that won't matter in his development.

Regarding the "With Pennington Record" vs. the "Without Pennington Record":
I've seen people post that before. I really don't think you can say that on firm ground. It nullifies any and all other improvements on the team.
One fact of life as a proplayer is that you will at some point become no longer able to play. I respect Chad's efforts and wish his career the best. I just think that improvement is needed. And, possibly someone else at quarterback.

What??? With any other QB on the roster we are not in a playoff race.

    That's soothsaying at best.
I'd place a lot more confidence in:
Mangini, Schottenheimer, the Offensive Line, the Wide Receivers, the Tight End, and the Running Backs then others do. It's a team effort. It could have been worse without Chad. But, I really don't think it would have been the doom and gloom as Chad supporters would have me believe.

As poorly as Chad has played in some games, you have to remember that he BEAT out everyone other QB on the roster. The fact that he isn't even playing that well, but still beat Clem, Ramsey, and even Brooks should show you how much worse things could've been for at the QB position.

So you actually think Ramsey or Clemmens would have us in this positon? Clemmens is a rookie who hasn't proved anything and Ramsey has proved that he is a loser and a bad QB. It's definitly a fair prediction.

I saw the preseason games and followed the practices as closely as one can without being there. I wouldn't agree that Pennington "won" the job by his performances. And, how they came to the conclusion that he was the best we had is beyond me. However, I do have faith that they believed it was the best chance at winning. And, one of the other quarterbacks might have (might have) been worse. But, Chad's bad days have been a little more than easy to overcome and in hindsight I would have preferred one of the others myself.
And, the improvements on the OLine, with the Receivers, and the efforts at Running Back have contributed substantially more than the Pennington interceptions, fumbles, incompletions, and "coverage sacks" when everyone is open.

I think you are ignoring the fact that Clemmens and Ramsey would have had bad days to. Thats one thing that gets to me about people who really trash Chad. They expect him to be perfect all the time. Those other QB's would have had the same and more struggles than Chad has.

You are my least favorite poster. This thread had nothing to do with that thought either. :)

Chad would not have those stats either.

He would not get the chance to throw 4 INT's after the 2nd, maybe the 3rd, it would be the bench for him.

However, I expect him to play great.
