WWWD What wouldWoody do... "Hey big brother...I got a little problem going on with the team. I think we need to get rid of the new coach." "Already? Aren't we still paying the last guy?" "Yeah...but this guy really sucks." "Chris...do you have anybody in mind to replace him?".. and don't tell me Greg Willams...he's a lunatic." "Yeah Wood...I do. He's got tons of experience and he calls his own plays!" "Don't call me Wood... anyway, he sounds good. What's his name?" "His name's Hue Jackson. He says he'll work cheap."
Good point. Not sure the Eagles drafts have been so good. It doesn’t mean Douglases will be bad, but Jets history is not on his side.
There's a thread on here bashing Macs picks with a chart of every team. Eagles are slightly ahead of his picks over 4 years, but if you remove 2016 Mac was slightly better. I don't know why so many here insist on crediting Douglas with any of the drafts, but 2016 in particular. He was still in Chicago and was hired post draft 2016. He really is a complete unknown , but he's the only glimmer of hope the franchise has right now.
I've said it before. Get players that played for the Jets and have them consult. The Jets have many guys to go to. From the 80's. Freeman McNeil, Bruce Harper, Wesley Walker, 90's Chrebet, Johnson 00's Pennington, Martin, Mawae, 2010's Scott, Mangold, Brick. These are a few. Definitely others worthy. These guys were players. Not that they'd always be right but good voice of who they think could help this team. Sad.
Looking at it right now. Dillard is the left tackle of the future and played well when Peters went down. Miles Sanders is a big play machine at runningback. Dallas Goedert has 7 touchdowns as the #2 tightend in a season and a half. Avonte Maddox plays. Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas are their starting corners and decent when healthy. Barnett has underwhelmed somewhat with 11 sacks in 2.5 seasons but he's still the starter. I'd kill for three drafts that have netted production like that. It's not the best in the world but it's better than us. I agree though. It's tough to judge a GM that's never drafted his own way though. Maccagnan was apart of a good drafting franchise and he was a disaster.
Keyshawn is a bitch though. hard to believe he's trying to act like 'one of us' after the stunts he pulled to get away from this organization
First thing I thought when I saw this thread was.... Second thing I thought when I saw this thread was....
The crazy part is, I think we should 10000% contact him. The problem is that our ownership won't do that. Why? Because their gigantic fuckin ego's hold them back from ever seeking advice or help from the outside. If I am Joe Douglas, I am immediately calling him, Bart Scott, and Damien Woody and hosting a dinner together. Find a way out of this fuckin mess with a group of guys who truly care about this franchise. Why would that hurt?
Damien Woody is the man, his weekly rants are great. I'd be interested in talking to Orvlovsky about coming on in some capacity as well, dude wasn't a good football player but he knows stuff.
Keyshawn sayin he wants help the Jets build a stable organization... is like Revis offering to help the Jets make prudent financial decisions with player contracts.
Keyshawn sayin he wants to help the Jets build a stable organization... is like Adam Gase offering to be the Head Coach....
Well that’s just not true at all. Just a couple short years ago they spent millions seeking the advice of Charlie Casserly and Ron Wolfe. A couple years before that they spent millions seeking advice from Korn Ferry. Personally I’d just rather they admit that they know nothing about football and allow Joe Douglas to pick the next staff as he is really our only hope at this point.
I wish everyone would stop with the Mccarthy love. He's a shit coach who has an all time great qb who helped him look better than he actually was Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
The consultant job title is perhaps the greatest business to be in. Make a suggestion and make sure you cash your check before the results are in. With that being said, at least Todd Bowles' teams were competitive. Even if some of his coaching decisions lead us to defeat. The 2017 Jets were kind of fun to watch in retrospect..
Jets fans waxing poetic about Keyshawn while complaining about how selfish Jamal Adams is at the same time. Lol. Fools must have been born in 1995.
