It's just based on absolutely nothing. You want to attack his scheme? Go for it. Playcalling? Be my guest. 15 interviews with the media with Gase as this teams head coach and everyone knows how he interacts with players and in the locker room. He's a douche to the media just like countless other coaches have been. But you're attacking something that's not really a reflection on how he is with players.
My biggest fear is that Sam is developing “Happy Feet” a’la Ken O’Brien (who was another talented QB but who took a pounding early in his career and never seemed to set his feet because of it). My real question is, How much longer before these bad habits become permanent? Do we really need to ruin another talented QB before we realize that we’re doing something wrong?
Gase may know stuff about offense and schemes but it is obvious with Miami players definitely had issues and some didn’t like playing for him and now the Jets. I think it is no surprise that he has issues working with players and getting them to believe his system. In my opinion that has where he failed miserably in his first season which is critical. That said the main reason I don’t want him back.
Agreed. It's as simple as that. I also think the HC shouldn't be calling plays. He needs to be coaching both sides of the team up.
True, especially the second part. What I seen to remember is that Kenny never seemed to settle in the pocket. He could have been so much better. I’m just very concerned that the mistakes we made with Kenny, we are repeating with Sam and it will prevent him from reaching his full potential.
I will always hate O'Brien for throwing Toon into huge hits on a regular basis. Toon was a jewel and undoubtably one of the greatest talents and players the Jets ever had.
I hate to say this but looking at any of those guys basic demeanor on the football field and comparing it to Darnold is insane. Those guys all look at NFL defenses all of them as their bitches.
No it isn't. Just because we found the one coach worse than Bowles doesn't mean Bowles is worth appreciating.
I feel like when Gase is fired this board is going to celebrate like we won a Super Bowl. I don't disagree with what I just said but that is also sad. Gotta love our Jets.
One interesting tidbit that I did a little research on was injury history on Gase coached teams, his teams have always had a ridiculous amount of injuries. Now the Jets have an injury report with 20+ on it and 6-7 guys on season ending IR. At this point it isn’t just a coincidence, something this guy does is getting his players hurt. 2016 Dolphins had 8 players on season ending IR 2017 Dolphins had 15 players on season ending IR 2018 Dolphins had 10 players on season ending IR
The only thing he's doing is losing. You really think the spate of injured defensive players we have is on Gase?
Is that a lot? There are currently 267 players on IR this season. I'll bet Miami has 8 to 10 right now.
