At the end of the day the team has a cap, and the way they allocate that cap is reflective of how much they value a given position/player. Just stop. There have been more elite edge rushers getting new deals then there have been safeties, hence the value is going up slower.
Or it could be that DEs are simply worth more than safeties, see, e.g., Occam's Razor c'mon man. Most people here love Adams; the fact that safety is a less valuable position does nothing to negate that love AND if we were a good team at the time, picking Adams perhaps would have made more sense at the 6 slot
Just because you posted it somewhere else doesn’t mean it’s right. Positions are valued differently. There’s no denting that no matter how you want to spin the numbers. Qb,lt,edge,corner are going to get paid more than safety,guard,center,non rush lber etc. it just is. Mack’s deal will be 3-4 years old when Jamal signs his next one and won’t touch Mack’s numbers.
