If the Jets lose to Miami and let that moron Gase come back to MetLife, it'll be a bloodbath for him.
Okay, after watching last night, Jets-Dolphins will be interesting and unpredictable. Obviously the Dolphins are terrible, but the Jets are too, and I think the Dolphins players care more. They seemed really into the game and tried hard. More than I can say for the Jets recently. Fitzpatrick is still Fitzpatrick, so we could see some Fitzmagic or Fitztragic. Never know. Sam could have a 5TD game, but he needs protection. The Jets should win, but nothing would shock me. The Jets will need to play hard, otherwise they will lose.
in a perverse way i wouldn't mind if the jets lose to miami.....would definitely liven up around here. It's been boring!
On one hand I want them to win. When the games are going on the Jet fan in me kicks in and I want them to win. Plus I also want to see Darnold do well and continue to develop as a franchise QB and winning games helps that. On the flip side I know any meaningless wins they rack up now will hurt their draft position next April. Given the Jets needs having a top pick really helps and is something we need.
The line for this game opened at Jets (-4.5), its now dropped twice to (-3), it’ll probably drop again before Sunday. This game has catastrophic meltdown written all over it.
A (1-6) team can't really have a meltdown against a (0-7) team. They are both just terrible. The difference is Miami doesn't even want to win, which would make a Jets loss more embarrassing. The point spread only being (-3) against this Dolphins team should have Adam Gase fired before the game even happens, but we all know he won't be, so that is just how it goes. I think the Jets are due for a good game. A Jets win won't say much about the direction of the team, but a Jets loss would.........
Don't tempt the Jets, anything is possible with them. To me, this game feels like the Buffalo game when we got throttled by Matt Barkley at home last year before the bye.
Then Gase would be fired, as that game sealed Bowles' fate. I think the Jets will probably play well and win easily. They are due for a good game, plus Miami can't feel good dominating a first half, up 14-0, and then allow 27 straight points to lose on Monday night. Pittsburgh played really bad too. Games like that can make a team even worse the following week. We will see though, as you said: anything is possible with the Jets!
The Jets have been humiliated a few times this year already. Losing to Miami would pile too much onto that. There is only so much humiliation a team can endure. Lose the game - lose the locker room. That's what it feels like.
The line is dropping because of how people are betting on the game. That may not have anything to do with the actual odds the Jets win or lose.
I think Gase is done no matter what. He is clearly in over his head. If they lose to both the Dolphins and Giants I could see them firing him after the Giants game and let GW coach the rest of the year. But this is the Jets so who knows what they will do
