Dude. I do. He doesn't make impact plays. Elite players do. He's a good player, not an elite player. He's not the center piece of a defense. I also imagine he's not resigning here and not at anything below what Landon Collins got. I wouldn't pay an in the box safety that sort of money anyway. Good for you if you would.

His value is distorting because he makes a lot of tackles down the field on a bad team and he's constantly pumping his chest after a big hit on a 22 yard gain.

Actually you do...under the right circumstances. If what you get in return is worth more than that player provides, you do it.Branch Ricky did all the time, and he's in the HOF. Or, if you want to follow a more generic credo: "Buy low. Sell high". They got Adams for a draft pick and have paid him a lower salary than he'll be making when his contract runs out. If they can get a 1st, a 2nd this year, and 1 or a 2 next year, do it.

Ryan Clark came out on twitter and said that Adams wants to play for the Cowboys.

Jamal Adams came out on twitter and said he told the team he wants to be a Jet.

I don't believe Ryan Clark is the most credible person out there, but do we think he just straight up lied about his conversation with Adams? Or is Adams doing some sort of damage control (poorly).

Dallas is a winning organization and much closer to N.O., and now Adams knows he's not the untouchable stud he believed he was. He's gone as soon as Douglas can line up the right deal.

Not putting him in canton yet but we have seen him single handed cause drives to go 3 and out.

I agree, and I have been saying that for a few days now. I just hope that when they eventually do trade him, they get more than what Dallas was offering yesterday.

I've been saying for a while this situation is mirroring the Porzingis situation a bit, and its getting more and more similar every day. Hopefully they dont wait too long and get horrible value for Jamal like the Knicks did.

Jamal is exhibiting poor leadership skills right now. We get it, you hate losing. Stop pouting and whining. Look af Leveon saying they need to stick together and follow the process. That's a leader. A leader is not going on social media and blasting your GM and now creating all this controversy.

And I have news for Jamal. He isn't as good as he thinks he is. Yes, he is still a pro-bowler, but he is not an untouchable caliber player.

I like Jamal as a player and the energy he can bring. I hope he stats a Jet for a long time. But if he keeps up with this whiney and pouting attitude then get rid of him. You don't need that on your team.

no impact plays? so i guess his pressure on the 2pt conversion that got us our only win isn't an impact? You clearly don't understand the game to make comments like that or adams impact on the field

    he took it back.
he said originally that adams told him he wanted to be traded to the cowboys. it was a half truth for clickbait.
what really happened was clark called adams and told him the jets are shopping him and asked him that if he was going to be traded, where would he want to get traded to and adams said the cowboys
there is a huge difference in how he presented it though. he presented it implying adams wanted out when instead it was a hypothetical situation and an answer he gave clark based on a lie clark told him

I'm starting to wonder if it's a matter of Adams being naive. Supposedly, he told his friend Ryan Clark that he'd love to play for the Cowboys. Growing up in Louisiana, I imagine that Adams could have been a Cowboys fan and perhaps dreamed of playing for them. If that's the case, maybe he got upset because he didn't get traded, and decided to post the tweet calling Gase and Douglas liars to try to force a trade. I hope not, but most of my love and respect for Adams is gone.

Adams is a diva...wasn’t he going on about “dying on the field” during his rookie year? He’s a great run stuffing safety. Dropped a pick on Sunday and only has 2* int in 2.5 years.

my hope is we can get more for him in the off-season than what Dallas offered. He has no future here

You just did the same thing by cherry picking the 2 point conversion play.

I'll rephrase because you can't comment without telling me I don't understand the game while you turn around and take everything literally.

He doesn't make ENOUGH impact players to warrant the contract he's going to want.

He didn't post the tweet to try to force a trade the trading deadline was past. He was whining and he was hurt because he didn't read into what the actual situation was.

The Jets wanted Jalen Ramsey level compensation. Two premium picks and a mid round. Ramsey's the best cover corner since Revis. It's quite a compliment to get dealt for two 1's. Few players in history have been traded for two first rounders.

I feel on fairly safe ground to say the bold is blatantly wrong and recognized as such by every team. The only dispute is how much the position is valued at not whether different

QB is at the top, punter is at the bottom. LT higher than any other line position and so on

I get it you want to argue, but I'm not going down this rabbit hole

And for the record, every safety you mention is great, but they were luxuries for an already well balanced team

except he does. he's one of the most versatile players in the NFL. teams have to gameplan for him and always be aware of where he is on the field. He plays pretty evenly as an in the box run stopper, zone safety, blitzer, and man coverage. and excels at all of them. You don't see an impact when he's shutting down other teams TEs. hell he shut down gronk a few times. in 2 games last year combined gronk was held to 5 catches for 80 yards. and adams spent a majority of the game in man coverage on him. His being on the field is an impact in itself. It's a shame you can't see that. it's like bitching revis had 0 INTs because QBs wouldn't throw his way or bitching about calvin johnson not catching balls when he's forcing the D to use 3 players to cover him. You really don't understand how impact plays work either and how players all effect each other sadly

yes QB is the rare case where it's valued more then any other position because they are the only position that touches the ball every play. Punter obviously is lower due to the skill gap not being large and the fact they only play like 4-6 snaps a game. But we are talking about defense and a safety and a safety isn't regarded any less valuable then an OLB, ILB, CB, DT, DE etc

uhhh say what? safeties are regarded as less valuable than those positions by virtually every front office
