I not sure Mac saw the Jets as rebuilding.

You’re probably right. He probably saw them as stocked with loads of talent.

another player to look at is antonio calloway. browns are rumored to be moving him. their GM has a history of moving players who have been suspended (like josh gordon). They are deep at WR with landry and OBJ. they also like higgins and taylor (who they traded for) and calloway is fighting for the WR4 spot and barely seeing the field. He's young and cheap and under his rookie deal for 2 more years as a 3rd round pick from 2018. if we could swing a 4th for him it would be well worth it as we need WR help for this year and the future but need it cheap since Q is a black hole for cap space.

We're 1-6. We need to sell, not buy.

that's an awful mentality for a GM and I would expect better even form fans here. there is no "buying and selling" it's PR nonsense. You do what you can to improve your team always. The difference is the "sellers" in your mind are bad teams and the "buyers" are teams looking to make a SB run. That's incorrect. there are 2 types of teams. teams looking to improve for 2020 and beyond knowing this season is a wash, like the jets and teams looking to stock up this year by giving up future picks to make a SB run like the pats, texans, niners etc. Jets can be both buyers and sellers is the deal is right. as long as we don't pick older players and we pick players who will be here in 2020 cheap or reasonably priced.

to show you how insane you sound, what if the chiefs offered is mahomes in exchange for a 7th round pick? would you tell them fuck off we are sellers and ain't buying shit and we need our picks to rebuild?

What's your infatuation with undersized skinny speed receivers? Callaway drops a ton of balls. He played a big part in their loss vs. the Rams. In theory he played Robbie Anderson's role in Cleveland last year. They thought so much of that type of player and the ability to run 9 routes that they traded multiple picks to get Odell.

He was also riding around with weed and ammo on a suspended license. He and Robbie would have a field day rolling around Bergen County together.

    Pass.

which is why he's available. he's got the talent it's worth the gamble. Obviously he's no OBJ you always look to improve. they took a flyer on him in the 3rd round when they were desperate for WRs adding odell made him expendable. we can have him for a good value

To tell you the truth I'd rather they just hang onto Anderson ( assuming they can resign him ) and get a bigger #1 type in the draft to line up on the other side. It sounds convoluted but having a better WR in the fold ( better as in taller, can outwrestle and win the 1 on 1 match-ups with the opponent's #1 CB, etc. ) would make Anderson better and more valuable in the offense imo.

I understand what you're trying to say....like your Billy Price example from earlier. It's just not as likely to be able to steal these young players still in their rookie deals from a rebuilding team like the Bengals. What would Douglas be willing to give up for a player like Price? Personally, I'd say a 5th rounder is about right considering his injury history and I doubt the Bengals go for that. That Ravens deal for Lewis is not the norm....Douglas got a steal.

You need WRs to compliment each other. robby is a speed guy but can also do more if we actually used him that way. still his presence on the field changes the game. Enunwa was suppsoed to be that guy but can't stay healthy. we need to replace him. crowder is the slot shifty guy. we could get a WR in the draft but doubtful we'd use one early. probably a 4th rounder. O-line and CB are bigger needs then WR. that's why trading a 4th for calloway makes sense

C’mon Douglas. We’ve only got a few more hours to make sure our roster is worse than the Dolphins.

All we've gotten offered for Robby is a 4th. No thanks.
