Stinky I sat thru every home game of the Kotite error / era and it was priceless be glad you got an education my liver is still recovering
I don’t but I have no illusions he’s going to be fired this season, not after the brilliant owner let him be in charge the football operations. There’s no way Douglas is canning him a season after Gase got him here. The only way he gets canned is with a 1-15, 2-14 washout where the owner does it himself, lets Douglas pick the coach but spare him from making the choice on Gase.
Let me add that during that Kotite error I sat there at every Jet home game among Jet family and friends right behind the Bench and wore a paper bag on my head and I wore it with pride
NYJF10 , I was of that same belief but after thinking it over IT COULD Happen under the right circumstances and IMO that would be losing to the Dolphins next week ( which you think would be rock bottom but its not ) followed by a loss to our Big Brother the NY Giants = IMO Gase does not survive that if it happens.
This is what I predicted when Gase was hired: if he doesn't have the Jets winning, or at least playing competitively right out of the gate - regardless of the schedule - the calls for his firing would begin. This is a fan base that has endured 6 straight non-playoff seasons, and 50 years without a championship. Let that sink in. For those of you downplaying all this losing and ineptitude, you have have no concept of human nature. Patience is a finite quality. Most Jets fans have run out of it completely. That Johnsons don't know this only reinforces how clueless they are. While Chris can aloofly say "I haven;t given any playoff mandate", he ain't Pharaoh - just because he says it, doesn't make it so. The fans are demanding a winning culture, That doesn't necessarily mean we needed to make the playoffs this year, but it meant we had to be in the hunt. And even when Sam went down, we should've at least played competitively, but except for the fluke of the Dallas game we haven't. All that said, I doubt Gase is fired. I don't think the Johnsons have enough football knowledge to know he needs to be, and even if they did, they don't have the guts to admit their mistake. This debacle ain't over by any stretch.
This is what has lost me completely on Gase: Jets offense without Sam Darnold: 0-3 with 3.0 points/game Jets offense with Sam Darnold: 1-3 with 11.8 points/game
I dont know my gut feeling is if we lose this game Gase is canned. Again just a feeling. But if we lose to the PHINS coming back to Met Life Stadium with Gase as our coach could get very ugly. Been a fan a long time and UGLY at the stadium is NOT GOOD
You saw what I posted,,,I agree with you but I think the Giant game will be the straw that breaks the QB whisperers back
Now Gase is losing his players and the locker room. Le'Veon Bell left yesterday without speaking to reporters, something he never does. Jamal Adams said this, "We're 1-6, man," said Adams, shaking his head. "I can't even count how many times" -- he didn't finish the sentence. "It's been three years, man. I'm frustrated. I just want to win."
Well.... I was drunk half that time too.... good thing "Cs get degrees" my brother was still in High School and would go to alot of those games with my uncle (who had season tix) as most of his kids were away at school too.... I got plenty of updates
His coaching looks just like Bowles mess. No adjustments. Just gameplan on Monday and that's it. I sure didn't expect that from him. No tricks plays, no screen passes to Bell. The back up TE is our only weapon? Another criticism of Gase is he ran a soft training camp. Bell got no action.
If the Jets lose to the Fins he has to be fired (you are probably right he will not). This fan base is already losing it can you imagine a loss to the Fins. To be honest I'm rooting for a loss for two reasons. At this point we want the pick and two it might get Gase out of here.
