I’d much rather have AD, and if I’m Zion the only ultimatum I give the Pels is that they need to get the 3rd pick to draft my buddy Barrett.
I just dont see that happening. If i made a list, i could probably come up with 12 teams that have better assets than the Knicks. Easy ones include the Lakers, Celtics, Clippers..
Except Barrett is considered a potential superstar and was viewed as the top player coming into this season. Maybe Tatum could be viewed as comparable but neither the Lakers or Clippers have anyone comparable to a superstar to trade. The potential of Barrett the superstar is greater than any collection of players the Lakers or Clippers can offer.
I understand the logic, but the Pelicans would have to think his potential is high enough to warrant pretty much nothing else. IMO, Knox has little value, and using the thought of only looking at superstar potential, is non existent. The package would pretty much be Barrett and Smith Jr as a young star. If they look at anything other than Barrett's superstar potential being very high, the Knicks don't have much else to offer. Other teams can provide 1 young star and a team of young solid rotational players the Pelicans can prefer over Barrett if they aren't as high as him as some are. They can build their team with Zion and Jrue Holiday, who is very under rated and an all star PG in his own right.
I remember when I used to really like basketball and the Knicks....... Granted I was more into basketball when I was playing pickup games (admittedly, not very good though) but the Knicks have sucked any interest from me.... Sums it up here: https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...ail-to-face-media-after-david-fizdale-firing/
It's impossible for me to watch bad basketball or hockey so if my teams are terrible I'll start watching in the playoffs...haven't been a hardcore fan since the Spreewell days...Carmello Anthony did nothing for me...ball dominate iso guy who doesn't win games.
