exactly right! and, the guy they picked up was cut by the vikings after they gave up a 5th just to get him. they pulled the trigger on bertolet too fast.
Well said. I always hear how most of kicking is mental. Vedvik looked completely overwhelmed and freaked out. And it was just a 1:00 game with the Bills and Jets. Not a good sign for his professional future.
exactly right! there should be 3qbs active on game day with the 3rd guy charting plays and holding for fgs. head coach can concentrate on game and fake fg possibility with a qb as holder may just make other teams hesitate on an all out rush.
Nugent was a second round bust that turd ... just like all our other second rounders drafted since 2000 minus Harris and potentially Maye.
Macc's parting gift to this team was not re-signing Jason Myers and not drafting a kicker late, even though he should have. Douglas hasn't done enough to address the issue either.
Thanks! I'm delighted to hear that!!! I hope he is one of the guys they invited in today to try out. I hope that Fry and Ficken were the other two. I think anyone else they're already brought in or would be a waste of time.
For 3 hours work and then we will cut you. Jets going for the all time how many kickers you released in a season trophy, a trophy we can realistically win btw
So many people overreacted to not paying Myers after just one good year. He’s now 8/11, 1/4 from 40+, make was a 42. Seattle knows he’s struggling. Year isn’t done yet and maybe he turns it around, but he never warranted the money in my eyes.
I actually really wanted to sign him, but it's looking like Mac made the right move letting him walk.
Agreed but on the other hand, if we had him, we'd probably be 2-3 instead of 1-4 right now. Which in and of itself would be worth a few million.
Fair point, but still doesn't mask the fact that Macc left the kicker position devoid of talent. This wasn't helped my Douglas' failure to address it quickly either. All in all, kicker has pretty much cost us 1 win (bills).
