Dec. 29 @ Bills 1:00 p.m. most of the teams left on the schedule are below average ... we should be favored against the jags, dolphins x2, giants, washingtons, bengals, and steelers win those and go 1-3 against the pats, raiders, ravens, and bills ... 9-7 baby! and this seems like one of the years where 9-7 clinches a wild card spot
It really sucks we lost to the Bills week 1, because they might be the team we are chasing down the stretch.
I mentioned this in another post. 7-8 wins is possibly in the bank. I'm not sure about getting to 9 wins with the current OL and all of the injuries piling up. A playoff spot will be probably unrealistic. You never know though..... I think more importantly...let's say the Jets win 8 games. That's a ton of good experience for these young guns - learning how to close out games. Give JD an offseason to shore up the OL and pass rush. Maybe give Sam another weapon or two. Then watch them take off next season...… It's a real shame they couldn't finish off the Bills.
Three days ago we were competing for the number one pick. Now we're competing for a playoff spot. I'm sorry, but I have to call out an overreaction for what it is.
lets hope the current GM and other hierarchy that anything more than 6 wins doesn't convince them that we are 1 second round FG kicker away!! LOL
I agree things look better today than last week. My only thing slow down. Another injury a weird bounce here or there. Lets enjoy the victory. Take it slow. Hope to get one from the Patriots. Very easy can get to 9 and very easy win 5. Enjoy the ride don't rush it.
put down that crack pipe So, we barely beat a team that had lost previous two games and was playing without two starting tackles and their best wide receiver. Ok, it was good to end the losing streak, get first win of the season, etc. but c'mon... 9-7? No, the Jets will not beat all of those teams. These are the New York Jets after all. They always have "trap" games where they forget to show up when you expect a cake walk win. Then, there are always games like Week 1 against Buffalo where they choke down the road. Let's take one game at a time.
I have personally sat through THREE total beatdowns in JAX.... and witnessed one "win" that rivaled the Special Olympics
Optimism is my favourite Being new around here I'm soaking it all up like a sponge When do the Championship caps go on sale?
You are correct. With this team it should be taken one game at a time. I do think 7-8 wins is possible ( weak schedule ) and a decent achievement going into the offseason all things considered.
This thread is going to bring back flashback nightmares of Dede Westbrook coming across the middle....
i predicted 8-8 with a 2-6 start and 6-2 finish. I think it's still pretty realistic. we are 1-4 now a loss to NE monday is 1-5 then a loss against jax means 1-6 then a win vs miami makes us 2-6. after that i see miami , buff, NYG, skins, bengals, and steelers all as realistic wins. The ravens and raiders are possible too. we could also sneak one out against jax. 9 wins isn't out of the question at all
This is a completely different team than what we saw the first 4 weeks. It is also a wide open for the last WC spot in the AFC. It is certainly possible this team can go on a run and position themselves right in the thick of the playoff chase heading into December. Certainly rooting for that outcome.
Or Fred Taylor taking a screen pass (after his QB ducks a sack in the shadow of his EZ) and zig zags all the way down the field for 79 yards and tackled on the 1 yard line. Only to score on the next play....lol
Beat the Pats and i will believe. I think there is a good chance we do beat the Pats with a chance we get blown out. The difference in this team last year and this year with and without Darnold is amazing. He makes everyone better. Beat the Pats and we have a new season and a reason to be hopeful.
