I'd be very happy if we get a 3rd + late round, but hey...Big "Coffee Bust GM" Maccagnan got a 2nd for Sheldon.
you know for all these random sarcastic comments from people here, i'm proven right time and time again. maybe it's time to re-evaluate your concept of things?
We are stuck with Tru unless we just want the dead money. I think we can see him turn it around this year.
Very possible... I will say he played a good game yesterday. Several times I saw him in Prescott's face and a couple of nice shots just as he released. That being said I'm sure if Douglas gets a decent offer ( whatever that may be ) he is movable. Q looks like he's gonna be a beast.....
beachum may be playing this week. we have other backup lineman. shell won't be here next year. the more picks we can get, the better.
I think we could, but I don't think JD will trade him. He'll probably just let him walk and we'll get a 5th or 6th round comp pick in place of him at best.
He played OK yesterday but.....Cooper came out. At this point TJ is a #2 CB and he's making way too much for that.
I disagree. If we can get at least a 3rd for Leonard Williams, I'd do it in a NY minute. Douglas needs draft picks to rebuild this team. We won't get a compensatory pick for Williams because Douglas will probably sign 2-3 players in FA. There's no point in just letting him walk and getting nothing in return for him. If he were an offensive player, I'd be much more hesitant about trading him, because he could help Sam develop, but he isn't. Trading him will have no impact upon Sam whatsoever except he'll lose a fellow USC alum on the team. We won't get anything for Tru Johnson, so it doesn't make any difference whether he goes or stays. The only way I'd consider trading Robby Williams is if some team made a crazy offer for him, like a 1st round pick (and that isn't going to happen). I think the Jets should re-sign him and think they will. Unless he gets healthy, he won't have any trade value, and may not anyway, but if a team were interested in Kelechi Osemele, made a decent offer and the Jets think that Alex Lewis can adequately replace Osemele for the rest of the season, I'd consider it, but most likely wouldn't because if Lewis then went down with an injury the Jets, offense and Sam would all be screwed. Probably the only other player that might have some trade value that I'd think about trading is Henry Anderson. I'd trade him for the right offer for the same reason I'd trade Leon Williams.
I think the Jets will take the dead money hit next year. I think the ship has sailed on his turning it around and playing well. His skills/speed have either seriously eroded, or he just doesn't care any more.
