I'm finding that VERY hard to believe but IF it's true the Jets have to consider bringing him here. Future HOF player who still has IMO plenty of gas left in the tank. I don't know what's going on over there why his sack total is low this season but my feeling is he's the kinda guy that the switch could go on for him again he starts dominating like he's used to. IF Denver is crazy enough to trade him the Jets should part with their #1 pick.
There's no quick fix that can save this roster. The idea of contending in the first couple years of Darnold's contract is a fantasy. We have to start over again, aside from ensuring Darnold has enough talent around him on offense that he doesn't get killed. The time to contend (and I mean really contend, not grab a wild card and first round ouster) will be in Darnold's 4th and 5th years. By that time, Miller will be past his prime, and we'll be out at least one high draft pick and stuck with an expensive contract. (Before anyone says we can cut him by then, remember that any money we pay him now is money that can't be rolled over to then.) And if Darnold isn't the answer at QB, we need to keep our picks so we can draft a new one. At this point, the best (sorry, worst) Miller can do for us is win us enough games to save Gase's job in the event the offense remains incompetent enough that he should be fired.
The jets need to STOCKPILE picks, not trade them.. After years of Maccagnan, the jets roster is so BAD right now, the jets need a total do over and that starts with the draft. I don't think there will even ONE member of the jets current starting offensive line on their 2021 roster. That what you get when a guy like Maccagnan drafts a total of just three OL in 5 years, and none above late 3rd round.
There's been a couple articles suggesting Denver should tank and trade numerous players .Von Miller, cornerback Chris Harris Jr., and Emmanuel Sanders are some mentioned, inorder to accumulate draft picks for next season. Nothing from the Broncos. Here's one of the links: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...-to-offers-for-von-miller-and-other-veterans/
I remember hearing in the offseason rumors about the Broncos wanting to move on from Miller and we were in the mix. Think I remember it being the #3 for VM + the 10th overall, but just speculation.
I am reading that Lane Johnson is on the trade block. I'm not going to tell you where I read that or discuss the source at all, just - let's debate about what we should trade for him, if anything.
I would rather exhume the body of Winston Hill and put him at LT in a re-run of weekend at Bernie's than give up draft capital for more Defensive line.
It's funny because every time we draft a Defensive Lineman, this board goes fuckin nuts. But trading for one and giving up draft picks for him is fine LOL
they only draft fat run stuffing DTs, not edge rushers.....last one they took in the 1st rd was 2008 (bust) and have drafted FIVE!!!!! FIVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE DT's since 2011
The Jets can't afford to give up any high (4th round or higher) draft picks, if at all. We need a stud pass rusher, but VM isn't the right move.
So you’re saying the o.p. read an opinion piece and took as a fact that Denver is looking to trade miller because it was on the internet? I can see that happening with said o.p.
