I don't feel he needs to do anything.

    Don't say anything at all.

Why butter up this scrub? He's a 5 years veteran and I read somewhere he's the highest paid player on the team this season. Why treat a veteran with kid gloves?

What are the organizational expectations for this guy? Where are the sacks, the big plays that a player making the most money on the team should be making?

Superb technique? GET OUTTA HERE WITH THAT GARBAGE!!!!!!

They've got to cut their loss with Leo.

i wasn't talking about leo playing great. I was just saying sacks aren't everything and hidden production is a real thing not the joke people here make it out to be.

I don't like the idea of Jamal Adams wanting out, but I do love his hunger for winning. He is sick of losing here, just like all Jets fans are. I feel like Leonard Williams is the opposite. He seems completely fine with losing. He always just smiles and looks like each loss does not bother him in the slightest. Hopefully that is not true and he is just a happy guy, but it comes off that way. And he has been here for a lot of losing lately.

What do you want him to do? Start a mutiny? he's a blue collar guy. it's his personality. just show up to work and get paid. He's not the rah rah type like adams is. everyone is wired differently

I haven't seen anything about Adams wanting out.

He got ticked off that the moron Gase tried his culture changing baloney on him by benching him for making a couple of bad plays.

Fire Gase (if he doesn't start winning soon).

    Problem solved.

Leonard Williams could simply stop giving up on plays. no mutiny needed

The Jets play Miami twice. He will get a few sacks in those 2 games. Maybe 1 other good game and call it a successful season

If we could trade him for a conditional 7th and a bag of popcorn I'd take it in a heartbeat. I don't think I've ever had a player I've flipped on as much as this Leonard Williams, but then again I'm still a young Jets fan.

He shoulda been traded in the offseason when his stock was still pretty high, the Jets coulda used what they got in return. Now they'll play out the string and he will sign somewhere else in free agency, $14 million richer.

I think there might be a very real "Jets fatigue" syndrome. Play for this shitty team for a few years and you basically lose your will to live. See Wilkerson and Sheldon.

highest paid thing doesn't make sense. you have to understand relativity and circumstance. he has the highest "salary" this year and cap hit, but he's not the highest paid per se. He's on an option year

    https://frontofficenfl.com/2017/03/27/nfl-rookie-contracts-explained-fifth-year-option/
    TLDR version

Every player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft will automatically have a Fifth-Year Option added in his contract. This option cannot be separately attached to the player contract.

The Fifth-Year Option is non-negotiable, and the non-compensation terms from a player’s rookie contract will be transferred to the fifth year.

The salary for the Fifth-Year Option is also different for two types of players: those selected in the top-ten picks and all other first-round selections.

The option for top-ten picks is set at an amount equal to the salary of the Transition Tender (set in Article 10, Section 4 of the CBA) for the player’s fourth contract year. This salary is calculated, to put it simply, by finding the average of the top ten highest Prior Year Salaries for players at the same position. Positions are defined by where a player spent the most plays during the previous season (Sec. 7, (a), 31), unless you ask Jimmy Graham.

He's basically on a predetermined deal from the CBA for 1 year which is used for when GMs either 1) want 1 more year to figure out if they want to commit to a player long term or 2) want 1 more year to negotiate a LTD with a player.
