I’m only 28 and I’m already numb to this shit. I feel bad for all of you who are waiting 50+. God bless you.
When the Jets run a ad during Patriots-Bills trying to sell tickets to the Cowboys & Patriots games. Ladies & gentlemen plenty of tickets are still available.
This reminds of the 1970's when the Jets' games at Shea would fail to sell out, putting into effect a TV blackout in the New York City area. Being stuck listening to the game on the radio while watching another game was not much fun, even if the team did suck pretty badly at the time. About half a minute of highlights is all you could hope for, if they even showed the highlights of the Jets games. Today there are a myriad of options to watch the game, which almost makes you want to avoid the games when the team is shitting the bed, as they have been for the past decade. The Jets not having their own stadium has robbed this franchise of a basic identity; they do not benefit from a home field advantage, as all other teams in the league do. One can argue the LA Chargers are also in the same homeless position (playing second fiddle to the Rams) as the Jets, however, they are moving into a brand new $5B stadium next season which, by comparison, will probably make MetLife look more irrelevant and outdated than its boring architecture already has it looking and feeling. What happens if both the Giants and Jets play host to the respective conference championship games? Would each game have to be played on different days (Sat and Sun), since the logistics of playing two games in one day at one stadium make it an impossible undertaking? This would obviously be a TV programming/ratings issue for the league. It is very hard to believe the league is dreading this scenario, since the Jets have only made the playoffs about 25% of the time the past 50 seasons or so (and never having hosted an AFC Championship Game). Unfortunately, the old saying 'there is always a first time' does not seem to apply to the Jets. The one phrase which does apply is 'batteries not included', which, among other things, pretty much sums up the energy they derive from Giants Stadium II.
Local stations have run ticket spots for just about as long as I can remember. Thinking this means the Johnsons are in trouble is off base.
They did this to themselves...The Gase era will go down as the worst decision in franchise history...Im expecting a 2-14 type of record...Darnold will most likely miss the Eagles game to.
Giants get the stadium, obviously. And in an act of unprecedented generosity, the league and the Giants agree to lend the Jets the Route 3 practice bubble free of charge.
If the Jets are good they have a home field advantage at Met Life. If they're not, it's a sparsely filled 82,000 seat air conditioner. But that goes for most teams. People forget game 1 was packed and very loud. It would be nice to have a stadium we play in exclusively, but this is a heck of a lot better than having Giants Stadium written on the outside. At least we own as much of this as they do.
It is comical that the Jets are running these adds. If you are on social media you get the advertisements all the time. I feel sorry for season ticket holders as they will feel as If they are at an away game when the Cowboys, Steelers and other teams come to visit. IF the Johnsons would only sell the team,,,ahhhhh a boy can dream
LOL now I see them running a ad for the games here. Seriously are they having trouble moving tickets to the Cowboys and Patriots games? Those are two of the more higher profile teams on the schedule and they're both having good years so far.
We literally had our season end in September. SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s some fucked up bullshit We CANNOT let the POS owners off the hook. But yeah- keep ordering season tickets. A fool and his money are soon parted. Most Jet fans are fools at minimum. The majority are worse. (Like me)
