bi-week musings... Do you ever use your memory of a long ago Jets game or Jets era to establish where you were or what you were doing way back then? It happened to me today....Fox News was playing clips of something important from 1998 (Bill Clinton's impeachment). I was trying to remember what I was up to back then, when the Bill Parcells/Curtis Martin Jet's era came rushing into my head and all of a sudden I knew exactly what was going on in my life back in 1998. Does this ever happen to anyone else?
Whenever I hear that song from Cher I think it was new at the time. I remember hearing it after the Jets beat the Chiefs that year.
I'm not really sure this forum is the place for musings on your bi week, even if it was just once in 1998.
Anyone that can remember what they were doing on a random Sunday 20+ years ago obviously wasn't partying near enough in their youth.
I'd rather not remember that if we'd have beaten the Broncos we'd have won the bloody superbowl. Another heartbreaking loss.
Hell, I remember where I was listening on the radio to whenever a new coach had his introduction press conference.I don't know why that is, but it must've been the shock of listening to Belichick resigning that make those "must listen". I remember Al Fucking Groh's, Herm's, Mangini's Rex's, Bowles... I also can pin my location to hearing certain draft picks. Mostly day two's because I'd be watching along for day one. Nutty.
I was fresh out of the boot camp when that happened. I was stationed at the DMZ in South Korea. [This meant I missed all the playoff games due to the time difference.]
Man, i guess it is true people get crotchety as they get older. I kid, especially since I'm thinking I'm older than you.
I'm an early Millennial; an "Xennial". I was 13 and just starting to notice that girls had boobies and made my pants shrink in the front. Meanwhile, I was trying to figure out pre-algebra, I couldn't imagine how any video game system could ever be better than the original PlayStation, and this new internet thing was pretty cool. When I wasn't watching football, I was probably watching Doug, Rugrats, and Hey Arnold.
