Who cares? They're both gone. There's enough problems here in Jetland today to more than keep us busy. Maybe we need a "Jets History" section where this can go along with the never ending debate over which of Winner and Kotite were worse, what's new with Jachai Polite and how cold it was at Shea Stadium before global warming set in.
Idzik literally did everything wrong. There were no redeeming qualities. This shouldn't be a thread, as it's not even close.
Ya I was really wondering, thanks for the thread brilliant, couple more years Douglas will be added to the list.
Idzik had two redeeming qualities. One is he left a lot of cap space behind. And two is he didn't have the ability to sucker people into giving him more time to do damage. If Darnold is the answer, then that saves Mac's legacy somewhat. But if not, it won't be close all right, but it'll be Mac who was way worse.
Idzik vs. Mac is like Sanchez vs. Geno they are all awful but Sanchez and Idzik are epicly bad and as awful as you will ever find in the NFL while MAC and Geno are just plain ordinary terrible but light years better than their predecessors.
Please, name me some good transactions that Idzik made. You'd have to really dig deep. It's really not close at all. Bradway was even better than Idzik, and he was terrible!
Idzik never got a chance to spend the cash he was stashing for the upcoming season prior to his firing. Macc got TWO spending sprees and 4 drafts and look where we are. Both are trash but Macc takes the cake here.
Idzik had a boatload of money his last year, and did nothing to improve the team. It was unforgivable. In contrast, Mac made some really nice FA signing this year with the cash..
Yeah fair point. But his drafting was/is so bad we're still fucking garbage with those nice FA signings. Really there is no wrong answer to this one. Because Macc was given more chances he gets my vote.
I was going to post the same thing!!! I'm just to pissed to post about these two guys. Hey, at least the donkeys are not looking good either, hopefully I'll be seeing less blue and orange jerseys on causal Friday at work.
Free agency, I liked the wide receiver Decker. That is the only name that comes to mind, does anybody recall other players?
worse off 2 people voted for mac. despite idzik (and min you unfairly) shredded the team for a rebuild and never got the chance to follow it through, he had 12 picks and completely whiffed on 11 of them, refused to trade up for OBJ and wound up with one of the worsts drafts off al times. I don't think anyone else ever drafted 11 busts in 1 year
If Sanchez was on the 2013 team the ceiling for wins that year would have been two. No way could he operate behind that OL. His normal 16 ints and 10 fumbles per year would have doubled. Geno was terrible but he was a huge step up over Sanchez. Take the first game against Tampa were Tampa brutalized Geno. If Sanchez was our QB no way we stay within 30 points of TB. It would be that way the entire year. Sanchez was to scared to play QB in a tackle football enviorment. He was always one of the least pressured and least hit qbs in footvall but took sacks at twice the rate of other qbs per pressure. Put him on a bad OL where Clyde Gates was our best reciever and 50 turnovers is a possibility.
