Just goes to show the difference with both Olines with the Rams and Jets vs the Browns. Myles Garrett completely stuffed by their LT on all 3 passing plays 1 on 1 and literally every single pass play 1 on 1 vs Beacham, he abused him. This team has to have the worst OL in all of football.

We should allow another team to borrow Darnold for a game to see how he would perform behind a competent Oline.

First NFL start 300 plus passing 2TDs and 2 Rushing TDs without Saquon and mostly an invisible running game with virtually no weapons and a 2 minute drive to win the game , is a little more than good. Giants roster may be worse than ours.

He was incredibly calm in the pocket and stood in there and delivered knowing many times he was gonna get clocked.

Maybe worse on Defense but they are more talented on offense outside the numbers. Our skill position players on offense outside LeVeon are horrible. He played GOOD. What's wrong with saying someone played good? People take it like its an insult. You don't play GREAT when you turn the ball over 2x with the possible chance of two more. He lacked ball security in the preseason and it showed today. There is nothing wrong with saying someone played good.

And if Darnold plays well, we should let that team keep him and then root for that team.

agree....he looked good. there is no way around that. Quite frankly if this is his baseline, gettleman pulled a fast one just like reid did with mahomes.

and yes i will go there - if darnold continues to look so so when he returns you bet the jets fanbase will get antsy real fast.

Everyone said the Giants were idiots to pick Jones #6 overall. Now I'm thinking that once they get a good defense, the Giants are going to be perennial Super Bowl contenders for the next decade with this guy.

I'm okay with that though. Unlike most Jets fans, I like the Giants; they're actually my second team as my dad, brother, and uncle are huge Giants fans.

Ever heard of someone named Browning Nagle?

21/37 — 366 2 TDS 0 INTs. How was the rest of his career?

Everyone needs to r e l a x about Jones. It was one game. It’s like Canton is already creating his Bust

Browning Nagle was before my time. But regardless, Jones looked excellent in the preseason, and I liked what I saw from him in college.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling this guy could be the real deal.

He played one game and you can tell he's the real deal? Why aren't you a scout or work for an NFL team? He looked good in preseason for sure. But having your starting OL play while you go up against 2s and 3s is a big +.

Ya'll need to put down the koolaid. Jones looked GOOD but people writing his ticket into Canton need to relax.

Other than his fumbling, I didn't see anything of concern. Is he going to Canton? Who knows. I'm pretty sure he's going to be a longtime starter for the Giants. He has a quick release, he's good at his reads, he can scramble, he doesn't throw stupid passes, he's basically what you want in a QB. Time will tell, but he looks really good.

Don't know what to say about Jones, esp in comparison to Sam...guys don't usually burst onto the scene like Jones and then immediately fall off the side of the earth. Yeah, I remember Browning Nagle, but he was on the Jets after all (LOL) AND THEY LOST THE GAME.

he looked good overall, but it was a typical gameplan by bowles and a missed FG that got him his 1st win. DJ showed that when given the time and a WR gets open, he'll get the ball there. He also showed that he doesn't get rattled easy and can handle pressure. He alos showed he has a lot more mobility then any other giants QB in over 2 decades. Those are the positives. The negatives though are telling. He has issues protecting the ball, should have been picked and also lost a fumble. He had 0 ability to handle pressure as well. when pressure came he couldn't make a play. Obviously he's young and he can develop which is the point of him playing this year and those things are fixable. But sitting back with all day to throw and completing passes to wide open WRs isn't impressive, it's the bare minimum expected of an NFL QB. every QB in the NFL on a roster can do that, including luke falk. the good QBs do way more then that. Look at how bad baker has looked this season after everyone anointed him last year. and he's got arguably the best 1-2 WR combo in the NFL to throw to

He played well yesterday and made some nice throws. But yes, it's one game. He can still become anything from a bust to a FHOFer.
