It’s been brutal. This is really the only place I have to talk Jets so I will never leave but it’s been really hard as of late to have actual discussion here because everyone is either fired up, a complete idiot or a troll. Don’t rule out that this guy joined in 2012 to troll us because that was the real beginning of the end for Rex and Sanchez.
I don’t see why you would trade either. Yes, this team has holes to fill but you don’t fill those by creating two more.
I’m going to go against my own instincts here and feed the troll, but I would love to know what team has traded away stars and successfully rebuilt themselves into a contender. You win in this league by drafting well and getting stars. Why the hell would we trade the only star we’ve drafted and the only star we’ve signed?
Me too. I tried using Reddit to post in the Jets subforum but it is way different and not my cup of tea.
On the bright side, I think that Edoga is going to be a player. He didn’t look bad in the preseason . That would be a nice step forward.
It's way more than holes. We had to take a center out of retirement. We need to build an offensive line a la Tennesse and Dallas. Need a shutdown corner, or competent play.
If you are referring to me, I am not a troll. Have been a fan for over 30 years. Lennard is a bust. Trumaine has to go. Bell and Adams have been great. Need an offensive line to run a competent offense against good teams. Great , when Sam comes back, we can feast on inferior teams. I dont want to go that route.
Alright then I'll ask the question again... what team has traded away stars and successfully rebuilt themselves into a contender? Surely there's precedent considering you want to go that route.
It's more about getting the players that Joe Douglas wants and Gase can coach in his system. Again, need a competent offensive and defensive line first..dont have the former, may or may not have the latter.
So you want to get rid of stars who can play for any coach so that we can get worse players to play for the same coach?
If you go down that road, you're guaranteeing Sam will not be the Jets franchise QB because there's no way he or anyone else could perform on a Dolphins-like team. So we should trade Sam too and draft one of the 2020 or 2021 QBs. But here's the thing. If things are still this bleak at the end of the season, we can trade Bell, Adams, and Darnold then. And fire Gase because unlike with your proposal we'll have been able to evaluate him properly. So why don't we chill out and wait till more than two games are played to call for a teardown?
That still doesn’t explain why we should get rid of two of our best players. What do you realistically think the Jets would be able to get for those two players?
You are a troll. I'm sure you'll continue to spew that this is a reasonable thread. But it's not, and you are a troll.
I would not want to trade any of these players. JD will do a way better job of building this roster up via the draft and FA than any of the previous two GM's did. It takes time patience grasshopper!
