We have to be realistic here, as this team has holes everywhere. OL, corner, wr, Dl-edge rusher etc. Plus there is a new GM here along with disgruntled players in the NFL forcing trades. What is the current trade value for Adams or Bell? Adams would be tricky as we spent the number 6 pick on him and trading him to a contender for a first round pick would not be good value as it would be a late first rounder. So I would assume a 1st and 2nd, or 1st and a 3rd. Bell obviously has shown that he has not lost anything by sitting out a year and would be significantly better with a quality offensive line. So maybe a late 1st or a 2nd and a 3rd round pick? I advocated for trading Mo Wilkerson before his injury and his poor play. Patriots traded Chandler Jones. We need multiple players at many positions, not to mention, depth. Thoughts?
While I agree with you the Jets need to obtain draft picks to rebuild or reload but I think the better question is who on the current roster is tradeable that could draw interests. I think L. Williams is a good start. Obviously Bell and Adams would draw heavy interests but they are our two biggest impact players to build around with.
I really dont have a problem w the thread at all. This team is headed for another joke of a season.Nothing should be off the table for fixing this thing once & for all. Its frustrating every season to come on here & have fans telling ya to calm down when the team reveals themselves as their yearly joke. What did letting the Bowles/Mac disaster play out accomplish? “Let it play out” “we cant trade him”. The same people that tout meaningless december wins that destroy draft position as meaningful springboards.
There is literally no reason to trade Bell. Sam comes back in ~3 weeks and needs every single weapon at his disposal to improve and take the next step. The moment Sam got mono and we knew he would miss about a month the wins became meaningless to me. Every time we blew a 4Q game last year, but Sam played well it was a huge win. I'm hoping for the same this year when 14 returns.
I don’t mind the thread either. With L Williams due to being a FA and I think it s going to be tough to ask for a 3rd. Sad part there isn’t much anyone would want from the Jets. We got a bunch of WRs, OL, DBs but they pretty much worthless
Seeking a way out of another losing season and downfall should not include getting rid of your best offensive playmaker and your best defensive playmaker. You build around guys like Bell and Darnold and Mosley and Adams on the other side. You don't just look at your roster and decide you need to trade your best players. And let's not forget Darnold has an illness, he will be back in 3-4 weeks. Why would you get rid of Le'veon when he will prove to be a HUGE asset for him? It's really a dumb concept
Bell is our only impact skill position player. No way am I trading him. As for Adams, I'd like to keep him. But, he doesn't play at the most impactful defensive position. If a team offers two 1st rounders for him, I'd be open to moving him. We have holes at OL, Edge, CB, and WR. The best way to address them is to have as many picks as possible. Top players at those positions rarely hit the open market.
You gonna be happy w another 4-12 season? I sure as hell wont. Its ok to reach the conclussion that you dont wanna trade specific players but at least considering it w where the team is at? Dont think its dumb at all. We’re years away from respectability.Nothing should be off the table for discussion
No of course I don't but again, it is dumb, in my opinion, to get rid of your best players, one of which is very young, the other a HUGE asset for our franchise QB. Lets also not forget the power the players hold in today's NFL. There is a detailed article about how a team like the Dolphins may be in a real predicament if players simply don't want to play for them.
