Actually prior to the third down play in the third quarter, Bell rushed 17 times for 61 yards (3.5 ypc). For the 11 carries immediately prior to that play he ran for 39 yards (3.5 ypc). Prior to the third down play Bell was stopped for two yards or less 7 times out of 17 runs and in total Bell was stopped for for two yards or less 10 out of his 21 carries. Again, this is not to degrade Bell. It's just to refute that notion that anybody who doesn't excoriate Gase is "braindead". This is not to be taken as a ringing endorsement of Gase.

I think some of us are forgetting that aside from the few stars the Jets have - Darnold, Bell, Mosley, Adams, Williams, Herndon - the cupboard has been left bare by the previous regime. Throw in these facts: most of the above named players are either playing hurt or out altogether. Both the offense and defense are playing under new systems. I’m not saying Adam Gase is a great coach. Heck I haven’t seen any proof that he’ll even be a good coach. But let’s keep this perspective. The new GM was hired late. He had not conducted a draft or an off season yet. He is most likely going to need 2 off-seasons to fix this. But it has been done before and can be done in today’s NFL. The fans are just going to have to suck it up for this year at least ...... The Jets have a franchise QB. They have just hired the best GM candidate out there to head the operation and get players in here. Let’s give this a little while .....it’s been 50 years what’s another year or two ?

I don't get what people expected from a team that's won 14 games in 3 years.... Its not like they flushed the entire roster either so a lot of the guys that helped the team sink to this level are still around. Its gonna take time to purge the roster of the pretenders that Macc left us. People need to chill..
