Maybe, Maybe not. williams prefers the 4-3 though and this is a chance for JD to overhaul the roster since we have a lot of FAs and the one's we don't have are versatile players that can play in any system. Desperate times and all. you never really know. Of course we could always just release him.
I guess anything's possible, but Skrine wasn't very good before he came to the Jets and he wasn't very good while with the Jets. I find it incredibly hard to believe that he suddenly became a very good player. I think it's just projection on your part because Chicago's D is so good, and they were very good last year too, when Skrine was still here. Skrine is the weak link that D.
Just release who, Mosley, or are you talking about Anderson or someone else? It will definitely be interesting to see what happens and what the team looks like next season, but we are seeing the growing pains of so many new players this season. Will Douglas, Gase and Williams be willing to go through that again next season? The other thing is that with our OL needing to be almost totally, or totally replaced, with our needing a better WR corps, with our CBs being so awful, and hopefully both TruJo and Roberts gone, there won't be any high picks to spend on DL. I think they'll have to stick to the 3-4, and use their picks to try to fix the OL and maybe add a CB. Hopefully, the Jets will be able to sign a FA OL or two, a FA WR and a FA CB.
skrine was actually pretty good in cleveland and was a starter. we gave him a pretty big deal too to come here and he was used as the CB3 in the slot which made him the best slot CB in the league as we had revis and cro on the outside. The problem is he was thrown back in as a starter with no pass rash and played opposite much better CBs and the bad always sticks out more with fans then the good. Skrine was a good slot CB wo was making too much money and miscast as a starter. not to mention no CB can cover without a pass rush.
I would say we are at least 2 and probably 3 fantastic off season performances away from having a decent roster
that was a reply to someone else. we were talking about trumaine. I said we can release or trade him with a june 1st designation to lower the cap him in 2020 (saves us 11 million in cap room for 2020 but costs us 8 mil in cap room for 2021 but we need it now
OMG Skrine was not pretty good in Cleveland, and to say that he was the best slot CB in the league with the Jets is laughable. He was awful most of the time with the Jets. He got burned a lot in Cleveland. Sorry, but imo you couldn't be any more wrong about Skrine.
LOL Guy, it was in a post where you had quoted one of my posts. If it was a reply to someone else, you should have quoted them, not me.
There is a reason the jets gave him 6 mil a year, and the bears gave him 5.5 mil a year. and why the bears have a top 3 defense in points allowed and shut down aaron rodgers. Skrine never developed into a true starter but he is one of the better nickel backs in the NFL.
I quoted 2 people you were one of them. 2 separate replies in 1 post. not a difficult thing to read on a forum bud
I'm calling BS. In your post #21 you quoted me and me ONLY!!!!! At least be man and honest enough to admit that you screwed up. Don't lie about it. You can't even read your own posts. Skrine one of the better slot CBs in the NFL. ROFLMAO!!!
He can't see my post because I'm on his ignore list, he's making an ass of himself again trying to call you out....
Yes but this could be a positive if we believe Douglas is head and shoulders above Maccagnan in terms of talent eval.
That explains it. I have Tony on ignore, so his quote didn't show on my screen in your post #21. My apologies for saying that you were lying.
