Yeah, right. Because we all know that one unproven rookie pitcher from Japan automatically catapults a third place team to the top. Until proven otherwise, the Yankees are favorites to win the AL East crown...again.
Well, there is that "one unproven rookie pitcher from Japan" who has dominated NPB and the WBC, and there is also JD Drew, Lugo, and Papelbon in the rotation where he belongs. This year should see a much improved Red Sox team.
Red Sox also made another blockbuster signing today. Doug Mirabelli will remain with the Red Sox on a one-year contract, the Boston Herald reports.
Part of me is ticked that he actually got signed to that number. Another part of me is happy to see a team stick it to Boras.
What a waste, 104 million dollars for someone who has thrown as many pitches in the Major Leagues as I have.
yep, with the .500 record...dude why not have your team win something before you spend your whole life making feable attempts at insulting the yankees? you make no sense. go away
Mets fans know all too well that we haven't won in a while. It is the Skank fans that live in a dream world that they are still World Champs.
I wouldn't really brag about the Lugo and Drew contracts, and the bullpen might suffer without Paps, but the Sox should definately give them a good run.
Red Sox owner John W. Henry said a report that Daisuke Matsuzaka had agreed to terms was premature. "Obviously we’re close enough that they’re all on a plane together," Henry said, "but there’s been no deal." We wouldn't expect Henry to say anything else. The Red Sox still haven't officially signed J.D. Drew yet and they're only announcing the Julio Lugo deal today. Source: Boston.com
