Pathetic to drop a 16 point lead.

    1) can’t score 8 points off 5 turnovers

    2) the moment Mosley went out we got GASHED

    3) kicker woes

Any of those 3 go a different way and we win. Sucks we lost and I’m just as disappointed / disgusted as the next guy but whatever. It is what it is.

So I'm looking at the box score for the game.

Buffalo's rookie RB had a 17.5 ypc average and some scrub WR named John Brown had seven catches for a 17.6 ypc average.

So basically we got killed by a couple of no-name players.

Just a disgusting, inexcusable collapse by the defense.

Holy freakin' moly how can a team allow 17.5 ypc on the ground to a RB let alone a no-name rookie?

Last year we thought we might be a decent team after week 1. We were wrong. Hopefully we are wrong again this year. Hopefully we can clean up some of the obvious errors we made. I thought our game plan stunk on both sides of the ball.

They did not. Allen had 150 yards till the end of the game with the last 2 drives. He sucked most of it.

It could be worse I guess.....We could have been over-hyped about making the playoffs, only to get blown out 43-13.

massive overracting. It was extremely stupid to begin the season without a kicker though, that is true.

We'll be fine. Browns up next.

Killer schedule to start the year.

They needed this game and MNF against the Browns. Not just for the Ws but momentum going into this killer strect of games.

If they lose next week this thing could get ugly fast.

There's no way that they can rebound into anything resembling decent after that display today. There are high school JV teams that could have held their own against the Jets today. And that starts with Gase, who continues to prove to anyone with a brain (i.e. not the Johnsons) that he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near an NFL football team.

Sheesh seems like there are a lot of hot takes in here.

First, we lost by 1 point to what is likely going to be a pretty decent/good team (with a missed fg & xp). Our offense looked pretty spotty, and several of Gase's tendencies did show up. He has to realize some of Darnold's talents. Our defense will suffer if Mosley gets a long term-ish injury. AND WE NEED A KICKER (hello Ross Martin!!)

Second we should look around the league: the browns (whom many were in love with) got absolutely blown out at home and Baker looked very bad, Falcons looked terrible vs the Vikings, the dolphins were absolutely destroyed (and are tanking), and the jags looked overmatched and just lost their QB 1 for a while.

Respectfully, you really dont know who Smokey Brown is? Ill admit, he wont set the league on fire - but hes not exactly a no name either. It was a close game. Looking forward to the next match up for sure!

The Bills were moving the ball all day.
Allen was hitting receivers downfield and picking up more firsts with his legs.
He also produced when it counted most.

Where was that from our offense?
With the turnovers and points our D spotted them, a couple first downs would have won it, and they couldn’t even do that.

I really don't know what game you watched, but I checked the stats. Outside if those last two drives he had 170 yards. That's not lighting it up. I know because I checked.

Not sure how you could have watched that inept display against a mediocre Buffalo team and think we'll be fine. And we STILL don't have a kicker.

    Oh you checked stats lol.
I actually watched the game and what about his rushing you conveniently left that out?
His last 2 drives don’t count either?
It was obvious which qb was more effective but please keep looking for stats to support your bullshit argument.

And fwiw I don’t blame Darnold.
    Gase was uncreative and outcoached.

He didn't run for that much either. I was at the game dude. You're hot take is just that. Overacting. Defense did all it could. They were gassed. Reality is thus game shouldn't even have been close. The jets should have won going away.

Stop acting like Allen was good. He was ass too.

I watched it too, and Darnold looked better to me. Put Darnold on the Bills and Allen on the Jets and we lose by more than a point. And I'm not putting on green-colored glasses, Darnold was still not good.

You serious? Our defense puts up 8 (should've been 9) of our 16 points, forcing FOUR turnovers in the process, and you want to blame them??

The D did more than their share to win the game. The offense needs to step up at some point., we're not the 85 bears

Ok if Allen was no good than what was Darnold?
Let go of the Allen bias for a minute. He was the better QB today but that’s not the point.

I agree that the D made enough big plays to bury this game.
Gase failed this team and our offense was utter garbage. He limited Darnold and blew this game.
