This falls on everyone. Darnold. Our 2nd half defense. Gase. Williams. Everyone. I was hard on Jet fans during the game thread but I apologise I was excited during the game and all for not. We're still the Jets I guess. This loss hurts. Waited all year to see this team and this just sucks.
Got overmatched on the offensive line. And a terrible kicker. That's really what lost them this game. Hopefully they just need to get comfortable playing together.
yup I feel the same way I don't even have the energy to wanna post anymore leading up to the Cleveland game and don't even have the energy excitement to watch any more football today, tonight with the Pats/Steelers or tomorrow night after all the off-season sad how I'm defeated after week 1 @ 4;00. Feels like we've just lost a playoff game as in eliminated. I'm signing off yes can me a sore loser but I just can't do it right now
This is exactly how Gase and Tannehill were in Miami. Except instead of repeatedly getting lucky in close games, Gase didn't get lucky this time.
It absolutely will. This was a must win game and they came out and looked like crap. Remember, Miami didn't even see Gase fit to oversee the dumpster fire they currently have burning down there.
A great overall job by the D???????????????? They gave up 17 unanswered points on three consecutive drives!!!!!!
Magic Mike refused to invest in o-line and a kicker that’s why we lost this game specially the kicking game.....without a kicker we’ll be lucky to win 6 games!!!!all we can do is wait for joe douglas to fix the shit magic mike left behind during the off season dammm
What are Darnold's strengths? His mobility and ability to throw on the move. How did Gase take advantage of those skills, especially after his O-Line was manhandled and the passes that were attempted were tipped and tipped again? Five years of a brain dead coaching staff was bad enough. Hopefully, Gase, et al., wake up before it's another lost season.
Observations... Why not roll out Darnold with all of the tipped balls? Offense line just needs more time to play together... Mosley hurt? Kicker...obvious
Years of mismanagement have killed this team. Years of never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Years of having top edge rushers, corners, and offensive linemen dropped into our laps in the draft and us passing them up because some defensive lineman was the best player available. Years of overpaying for over the hill players to fill positions that didn't even need filled. Years of bargain basement shopping for low risk/potential high reward players. And now we're left with a team with a few top notch stars and tons of gaping holes. No cornerbacks, no offensive line. Honestly, I have no faith that this is "just the first game". I saw a team that was the same undisciplined mess as last year, if not worse. I say that because I saw the same shit offense in the preseason, and I was trying to write it off because, well, it was the preseason. But once again, we've hired an ultra conservative coach who is afraid to make mistakes. If we win more than 2 games this year, that'll be an accomplishment. I see Miami picking number 1, and us going second.
