In an uncertain world it's nice to see that there are still things you can count on, like Familia being a piece of crap.
Unbelievable - 10-5 lead going to the bottom of the 9th and now the tying run is at the plate with one out. Alonso's add-on 44th home run could end up being crucial.
I saw a lot of people on Twitter saying that the season was over after last nights loss... No way. The Mets needed to play 18-8 baseball the rest of the way where the Cubs needed to be .500 at best. The season was over long ago.
Before last night the Mets all time were 806-0 when leading by 6 or more runs heading into the 9th Diaz should be SHOT
This loss was completely unacceptable, chairs better be thrown through windows. There have been several recent games where Callaway tried to be stingy with his relievers by bringing in the scrubs and almost blows the game and then needs to bring them in anyways. He's clearly not playing these games with any sense of urgency. It's crunch time, he should be treating every moment like a playoff game, not saving the closers, even up 6. What are you saving them for??? Diaz struggling or not, this is on Callaway and he needs to go. Season on the line, you don't go with the scrubs to close a vital game against a high potent offense. You stick with Lugo or bring Diaz in right away there. Sickening... Degrom probably had nightmares last night. He can't buy a win. Hopefully a positive will come from this, and we don't see Mickey back next year. The main problem with this team is management, all this talent is being wasted. I can't even watch today's game. I'm just glad the Jets start next weekend.
Ah yes, our boy Familia with another exemplary outing! (2/3 inning, 2 hits, 2 walks, 3 earned runs) Brilliant use of $30 million.
Normally taking 2 out of 3 would be a good thing, but you simply can't blow games like they did yesterday.
Philly’s schedule is absolutely brutal; no way they don’t plummet from here. And we’ve got a series against the Diamondbacks so jumping ahead of them is under our control. The Brewers I’m just not terribly worried about. The sweep by the Cubs is likely going to be what costs us at the end more than yesterday.
