It has been a really rough 24 hours for me and right now I am pretty spent, that said there is time for this storm to change direction but IF it does not change direction and is NOT a miss would you really want to ride this out and stay ? Even if you don't live near the ocean this storm is going to crawl at 4 or 5 miles per hour and pound you for days with 1 to 2 feet of rain possible ! Winds right now are at least 110 miles per hour but by the time this storm hits it could be a CAT 4 and possible 140 mph winds The only running water you will have will be in your driveway and power will be out for days generators if you have one will be useless and hopefully your roof stays on while you are watching the lights flicker and then eventually go off. Stores will be out of food by today and closed after this storm hits and you wont be able to get gasoline ,IF I lived in Florida I would be making arrangements to leave and hope that it misses but I would not be there to find out. Have plan B in place right now and talk about this storm missing if it does after the fact .I remember when my friend Jay stayed in SC to ride it out he told me he would NEVER DO IT AGAIN. My in laws are not going to leave, I'm worried for them. Be safe all especially you guys and girls in the cross hairs

This storm is slowing down, which is obviously not good news. This will be affecting Florida for days, and looks like it will still be causing trouble in North Carolina a week from now.

Weather update = It is still very much up in the air as far as Dorians storm track and it could still hit anywhere and I mean anywhere along Florida but the latest guidance and this is with info from planes flying and dropping instruments into the hurricane is that #1 the storm now is an absolute beast , it is bigger and stronger than was advertised this morning and # 2 it appears that Dorian is going to make that sharp turn NORTH and I don't know if it will head out to sea ( IT COULD )but it might ride the coast of Florida and the models suggest that Hatteras gets crushed. Again still time for this to all change and I am praying this heads out to sea but as of now everything is still on the table.

Hell, I volunteered to work. I get paid for not going to my job and then get paid by FEMA for working a shelter. Been in Florida 30 years and never went further than an hour drive from my house during a storm and that was only because I was renting a place on the river at the time.

Thanks, I am in the middle of the state and I won't say we are fine here since Irma did a good job of wrecking Lakeland but I think our main issue will be all the rain making the ground soggy and easier for trees to go over.

Models starting to trend towards a Carolina landfall. Atlantic coast of Florida still very much in jeopardy here but ...... let’s see.

I went to sleep early last night, was going to get up and start clearing stuff from the yard but now looks like my job will be much easier. I think the table and chairs can stay now.

Over nights still trending east. @stinkyB still has a lot to worry about. I’d imagine storm surge is going to be a major issue up the coast.

IMO = No one out of the woods yet,,,,some models are showing Dorian Farther North than he is in reality. Im curious see if they were too far EAST overnight. A lot of time for this to play out pray that this thing hooks out to sea but my guard is still very much up

I don’t know C. 12z gfs goes east too. Looking better and better for Florida. History is on their side with this one. Going back to my first post on this storm. This track has been done before around this same time of year. A few times that I remember.
@stinkyB could still use another 50 miles east though .

FJAY I get it history is on Floridas side BUT-----there is still a long way to go yet. So long as this thing is still headed West and IMO not made that right hand turn yet ,,,,,,well you know. PS Some of the so called better models have this more East while there are other models that are still more West,,,sure would suck if the big guys have this wrong and one of those other models is onto something but I hear you FJAY , I hear you--------> I will feel better tonight or Sunday A .M when I see Dorians REAL location.
