What a loser. We're in big ass trouble going into the season at kicker. A bad kicker easily equals an extra 3 or 4 loses a year. Very concerning.
Should have kept Jason Myers. He signed a four-year, $15 million contract with Seattle. Surely we have space in our cap as we make our "run" over the next four years with Bell and Darnold.
Interesting take on Myers, surprised nobody has mentioned that yet. Maybe we can get Gostkowski in the Brady / Darnold swap, effective week 1?
It’s just amazing how unacceptably bad these kickers have been for us. I get that kicking in the whirling winds of the Meadowlands in front of thousands of people while 300 pound dudes are coming at you isn’t easy, but you’re telling me there aren’t more than 30 something people in the country that can do it?
I agree. At least we'd have something to look at while she was missing field goals. All we get with Bertolet is missed field goals.
I'm not completely defending this guy, but things needs to put in perspective. 2 of his missed field goals last night were from beyond 50 yards. 1 miss was from 49 yards. Again, I am not excusing his misses, but missing from 50+ yards and one from 49 yards is not the end of the world.
Kickers are so violatile...I mean everyone was clamoring for Vedvik when he was hot...he was since traded to Minnesota and is 1/4 in FG's (missed a 54, 43 and 37 yarder but made a 27 yarder)....so imagine giving up a 5th rounder for that right now. Bailey maybe cut so he might be brought in.
It’s about time kicker bit us in the ass. They have almost been automatic for us and we keep letting them walk.

I still can’t understand how Ross Martin wasn’t called back. He outkicked kickers that ended up making the roster if I remember correctly.
