Hypothetically, The Patriots have requested the services of Sam Darnold in this present moment. Would you accept the Pats offer of Tom Brady and a 1st round pick for Sam Darnold effective immediately?
I think it's a good question. If we had Brady this year we would win the super bowl however Brady only has 1 or 2 years left. Do we take a super bowl this year and then have none the next 10 years or gamble on having some high quality with Darnold for the next 10 years
Not sure I get the point of this thread. Is it to discuss whether we would trade for a top QB now and mortgage the future away? I would say no, we shouldn’t. Our team isn’t quite ready to make a big run. And then there’s the implications of trading for Tom Brady, who I’ve hated watching since I was 12 years old, play for us for 1-2 years at 42 years old and probably isn’t that good anymore to make the trade even worth it. What makes that trade terrible is we would be handing the Pats another potential franchise QB.
Its not a good question. We waited 50 years to find a FQB and now that it looks like we have one lets trade him to a division rival to haunt us for the next 15 years. Do it Joe D!!!! I dont know whats worse, that someone proposed the trade or that anyone would consider it
Imagine how annoyed Tom Brady would be. I think it would give him another 4 years of solid production and we might even get 2 Super Bowls out of the trade.
I am being serious, I reckon we take the trade for Brady but instead of the 1st round pick we ask for Julian Edelman as well.
I have to defend this new poster here. First, he starts the thread with "hypothetically". Second, this forum has been fucking dead this entire off season -- so pointless conjecture should be welcomed now. This has been the most dead I've seen it this time of year since I've been posting. Last, the OP is a new poster.
