Not official yet, but the stinky Institute of Technology thinks Dorian is on PEDs..... I'm thinking upgrade on the 5pm update Check the "Hot Tower" blow up near the center on the last frame
Looks like it might track south of Puerto Rico, but hit the eastern part of the Dominican Republic head on, before reorganizing for landfall on Sunday on Florida's Atlantic coast.
Yeah I'm not too worried. Got it for about half the price similar units were selling for when we first started looking but that was before Maria, dodged a bullet by not finding the right one then. It's in Loiza on the NE coast Edit: Actually just waiting to close so haven't officially bought it but have already done some work on it and think we would lose the earnest money even if the storm did do damage.
I don't know guys as some models have this NOT hitting land and staying over water before getting too close for comfort to Florida-----will that trough dropping down from Canada push this thing totally to the right and out to sea ?
I guess Labor day is a wash, save me from yard work this weekend. At least Friday looks good for H.S. football. Looks like @stinkyB gets to have some fun on the waves Sunday though, saw forecasts of 15 ft swells. Unfortunately it also shows it making a left turn right towards St.Augustine
FUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!! I have a broken wrist too..... bad enough I'm gonna miss surf.... Not sure how I'm gonna prep my house / fill sandbags. Current forecast is a Cat 2 direct hit..... and of course the highest tides of the month
WOW ,,,there is still time so the models might not have the exact track down yet but as of right now it APPEARS that Dorian will hit a LARGE part of Central and South Florida and it could effect a LARGE # of people. Possibly a Cat 2 or even Cat 3 = NOT GOOD. Keep an eye on this one my friends and hope it hooks out to sea !!!
That 00z euro just tears Florida up. The 06z gfs has a little more mercy. Brushes the coast before turning ots I remember a few Labor Day weekend tropical storms that came up the coast but stayed out enough to keep the weather nice and the surf up. I’m going to predict the same here. Just a hunch
Well I wasn't expecting much from this here but looks like I better prep a little. The huge oak within 5 feet of my office window has stood for a long time but I guess you never know when it could go. I wouldn't be too worried except for the huge amount of rain we have had lately softening up the ground.
