I wouldn't be shocked to see Jordan Jenkins flirt with double digit sacks. I think he's going to be a very good player for us this year.
I'm gonna go with Leonard Williams. For $14.2 million it has to be him right? Jeez he might be the highest paid player on that defense. $14.2 million + contract year warrior mode = um yeah Leonard Williams gets my vote.
he didn't get a 14.2mil dollar contract. it's an option year at a pre-determined amount. it's not remotely the same as the contracts we handed out to say trumaine or mosely. it just buys us another year to make a choice on him at an amount cheaper then a franchise tag
Henry Anderson takes an early lead. He’s my pick as well. Takes advantage of the havoc created by Williams squared.
I know that. He's making $14.2 million in 2019 who cares how he got it? It is what it is. I also looked up the Johnson and Mosley contracts neither one is making more than Leonard Williams in 2019. I think that's it I can't think of another candidate on the Jets defense that could be earning more than Leo. So for $14.2 million/the highest paid Jets defender in 2019 yes I'll expect him to lead the team in sacks.
Leonard Williams will lead the team in "hidden productions." -- In all seriousness though if Leonard Williams gets 8 sacks that will be the highest single season total of his career and may get him the team lead in sacks. that's a number I would shoot for for him.
it's just the way contracts are structured for cap reasons. typically when you say what a player is made you use the per year average and even then it's tricky because some are backloaded with money the player will never see. williams is paid right now based on the fact he was a top 10 pick and he is a DE. that's the designation. there was no negotiation or production involved. mac wanted to by time for 1 more season before making a decision on him. mosely is making 17mil a season average and as far as actual money paid out, the jets have paid mosely 18 mil this year already and he's only being paid 62.5k a game for a total of 19mil this season. the next 2 years he gets paid 16 mil a season and the final 2 17 mil a season. mosely will never be paid under 16 mil in any season so yes he is making more the williams. the cap part doesn't matter
My god, you are like a dog with a bone . And by that I mean you are as knowledgeable as a dog with a bone.
LMAO kind of funny last time we had a stud pass rusher we hated him for missing playoff games and ran him out of town. I mean it was still a great deal for us since we used that draft pick for mangold but still we haven't had a pass rusher as good as him since
