The face of the franchise is not necissarily the best player on the team. Hes the guy who everyone thinks of when they think of that team. I dont have to list anything. Only a complete and utter ball buster looking to pick an argument takes a topic that is totally based on opinion and acts like a sarcastic smart ass when someone doesnt agree with their opinion. Makes it worse when their point is nonsense. Your point that LWilliams at $14 mil this year means he should be the face of the franchise is comical at best. Spewing more anti LW shit once again. Lets start with what a player makes in a single season is pointless given payouts on a contract vary from year to year. Of course there is little to no chance that you dont come right back with a pointless argument after someone tells you this is all opinion based. Then again you are a "Warrior". Grrrrrrrr If you just took the time to read and think you might actually learn something about the game and you know, be enlightened
This thread has gotten some nice feedback. Good question, @FrontOfficeFanatic! Darnold and Adams close in the poll too. Nice to have 2 potential faces of the franchise on the roster.
just to play to the dawkins thing, I actually do remember a DB being the face of the franchise finally. Troy Polamalu was the face of the steelers when they didn't have any decent QB
I forgot about Westbrook, I agree you can have more than 1 at a time. 90s Cowboys, it wasn't just one guy, heck there was like 4 guys
Lol thats because I just mentioned it in my other post to you and so was Brian Dawkins. Ed Reed was probably the face even when Flacco was getting them to the SB.
no i didn't see you mention it. i just happened to come across an article on him. ed reed was not the face of the ravens. ray lewis was. after ray retired it was funny enough flacco. flacco did win them a SB and then got a 100 million dollar contract. funny enough i remember one of the ravens giving flacco shit telling him "how can the face of the franchise have eyebrows like that, you need to fix your unibrow" all the owners and NFL players know the QB is the face as long as they aren't garbage and in that case it goes to someone who is so elite on defense it's unquestioned. Not sure why a couple of people on a forum can't understand that
i'm guessing some poster that used to be around here but no idea who they are or what they did edit: and yeah i see the reply now. i missed that part the 1st go around lol
Yep. Just like with the Yankees it's Babe Ruth & Mickey Mantle & Joe Dimaggio. Joe Namath is the Jets Babe Ruth. Some people are so big the impact they made can transcend time itself.
No doubt. 60's Packers it was Lombardi & Starr to name a couple. 70's Steelers it was Bradshaw, Harris, Lambert to name three, 80's 49ers it was Montana & Rice to name a couple, the 2001-2018 and still going Pats it's Belichick, Brady, Gronk.
No my point was that a guy making $14.2 million in 2019 not even being a option in this poll is very telling. You don't know who Curtis Martin is?!!!! Ay yai yai!!!!
