my early read is that the bills will leapfrog the jets this year. many reasons as to why BUT me thinks its only a 1 year thing.
Yes, I know that, but neither of them play defense, and the Bills put up a pretty good number of points (27).
That's certainly possible, especially with the Jets's situation at CB, K, OL and with Herndon being out the first 4 games (one of which is vs the Bills), but I don't think it will. If the Jets just key on stopping Allen from running and make him beat them with his arm, I think they'll beat them both times, and that should be enough to keep the Jets ahead of the Bills.
Jamal drops a hammer on him, knocking him into the cheap seats after his second reception.. "Sorry Bro". 2nd Best 15yd penalty ever (roughing Brady is always #1)
Newton, McCaffrey, Greg Olsen, Luke Kuechly and Shaq Thompson were some of the many to sit for a team that went 7-9 last season. Yeah not sure why anyone would think beating the Panthers in preseason is some precursor to a "pretty good" season. You would think people would have learned after the Jets many stellar preseasons that were followed by a turd of a regular season.
Hate to say it, but we might be super fucked if we *don’t* start 2-0. @NE and @PHI are as close to automatic losses as you can get. If we drop our first 2, we’re staring at 0-4 with tough games against Dallas and NE right after. We just have to get to 3-3 somehow.
Man your right, the season could go off the rails pretty quick. Beat the Bills, Browns, and Pats once and we’re in good shape. We’ve never beaten the Eagles and they should be strong this year. Dallas is a mess and if it translates to the field we might be able to pick them off.
I think we can beat Dallas. Their entire offense is built around running the ball and the one thing we’re always good at is shutting down the run. Their pass rush scares me, but I think that’s a winnable home game. But when you try to think of permutations that can get the Jets to 3-3, it’s really hard to talk yourself into the ones that don’t involve beating Buffalo. We need that one.
I don’t think that’s going to happen with the Bills. That could be a much tougher game then people around here think. Our first 4 are a rough way to start a season.
Browns game is so huge early on. Browns will be fighting for a wildcard late in the year along with the Jets. Have to set the tone from the get-go.
It's funny how fans view thier own teams. I have some buddies from upstate NY and they are all looking at the Jets season opener as a win for the Bills, much like we are.
I'm not worried about it, every season we hear the same thing "Our schedule is brutal" or "The start to our schedule is tough" and it turns out to be different. There's too many things that can happen between now and game day that will change the outlook of the game and who knows, some of those teams we play could end up being garbage. You never know.
Bills game is more important. Division game at home against a team that the Jets are probably evenly matched against are a must win. The Bills wont crush the Jets at MetLife like last year although that game turned out to be a blessing since it was the final nail in Bowles coaching coffin. That second game in Buffalo when Darnold led a 4th quarter comeback in a close win is what I expect this year in both games against them. If the Jets ever hope to own the AFCE then games like Buffalo at home are a must. Plus the Jets and Bills most likely will be fighting for 2nd place in the division and a possible WC.
