The New York Jets have claimed safety Derrick Kindred off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts, the Associated Press reports. The team also announced Tuesday it waived cornerback Montrel Meander to make room on the roster for Kindred. Kindred spent the past three seasons with Cleveland, where current Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams served in the same role the past two years. The 2016 fourth-round draft pick out of TCU was waived by the Browns in April and claimed by the Colts, who waived him Monday. Kindred has two interceptions, 12 passes defensed and 148 total tackles in 42 games, including 17 NFL starts. He can play both safety and cornerback. http://theredzone.org/Blog-Descript...safety-Derrick-Kindred-off-waivers-from-Colts
From the Colts press, good read.... https://www.stampedeblue.com/platfo...-new-safety-derrick-kindred-bring-to-the-team
Better last name than Meander for a safety, but not great. Usain Bolt still tops matching name to sport
One of those "Who Gives a Shit" moves.....Most likely wont make the final cut.Montel or whatever his name is probably couldnt memorize the playbook so they brought someone in who already knows it.Rookies especially late round picks and undrafteds really struggle with the playbook and the language in general.
I always thought Chuck Long was a great name for a quarterback. There was also a high jumper once named Nathan Leeper.
Colt McCoy was the qb for Texas U. If that’s not the greatest name to team match in sports history I don’t know what is.
we are going to give up a boat load of yards this year thru the air but the big thing will be 1st down defense, 3rd down defense, penalties, and of course sacks/pressures. If we do well in these categories then the yards thru the air will matter much less.
