He told Bart Scott that the area was tender during practice that week. Wonder if he withheld that info from the CS/Trainers.

Should do like the Rams, no starters play during the preseason period.
The use scrimmage's and joint practices exclusively.
Sure injuries can still happen, but at least you decrease the likely hood.

I am furious about the Williamson injury. I don't get why he was in the game. He is a really good player. Then he gets hit by his own player who I don't even know his name and I consider myself a pretty big Jets fan? Brutal. This injury will hurt the team more than people realize. Hopefully Blake Cashman can step up and eventually take over the role. I have liked what I have seen out of him.

We ain't the Rams....not by a long shot.

We have new coaches with new offensive & defensive schemes.
We have a plethora of new starters on both sides of the ball.

It'd be nice to sit all talent...but it's just not feasible.

There's no trophy for "Healthiest Team"...

McVay was a New coach, first time HC, youngest HC, when he implemented it in 17. A whole new staff, second year QB , tons of new players. New schemes on both sides of the ball. Won a division title first year, made the Super Bowl year 2. Tell me again how it's not feasible.
The healthiest team usually gets to the divisional championship. The Super Bowl in the NFC.
Keeping players health makes a tremendous difference in the W-L record. But I think you know that and just feel like being argumentative

They would be sunk if they didn't have Mosley. It really sucks, but to be fair, it was only the early 2nd quarter. It wasn't like he was out there with the 3s and 4s ala Sanchez in 2013. That fluke type of occurrence could easily have happened at any time. Bad luck.

There was 3:52 left in the half. He should have been out with the rest of the starters. Played him longer than the rest in pre season game one as well

That argument doesn't matter because it DID happen at a time where he shouldn't be in the game. Thus, I am upset about it. :) Truly unfortunate.

And it could have just as easily happened in the first game of the season. Please point out which 2nd string player caused him to tear his ACL and why it would be different if it happened in the 1st game with the 1st string in.

Darnold played the 1st quarter behind 3 2nd string lineman, why did they let him do that? If we get injuries to the line during the year are they going to take Darnold out?

It's football, players get hurt, the only way players don't get injured is by not playing at all and sometimes even that's not enough.Keep letting the media pull your strings though.

It was actually a 4th, or later string player who injured Williamson, not caused him to injure himself.
He dove for a ball that was no where near him and planted his helmet into Avery's knee.

So 1st string players never collide in a game, got it.

Every game. And players get injured every game too. That's why teams play their starters sparingly during the preseason. To minimize those risks. So they are available for the regular season games that count.

Come on. He almost got a fingertip on that ball and his obstruction of the receiver’s sight-line was very likely the reason the ball was dropped. It’s football, shit happens. Let’s not blame the guy for trying to make a play.

Not blaming him at all. He's doing what he should be doing. Laying it 100% on the line in hopes of making a NFL roster. Just more reason you don't keep starters in .

    No argument.

I did not know McVay did that in '17. You've done a good job at swaying my opinion.

    Personally I'm not a fan of 4 pre-season games...

I'd rather see 18 games that count.

It'll be 4 preseason games and 18 real games.

Neither will happen. Not getting the Players association to agree to 18 games and the league not giving up revenue
