10 backups on the field with 1 starter. And of course the starter gets hurt. I have no idea what they were thinking. At the same time it did appear that he was possibly going to lose snaps to Cashman. Williamson and Mosley are a little redundant and neither is great in coverage. It sounds like Williams had drawn a liking to Cashman’s speed as a coverage player. Still, sucks to lose a good player and Cashman will need to grow up fast.
Cashman's knock is that he's not a great tackler. Meanwhile Williamson was one of the best. This is a bad loss no matter how you paint it, not that you were trying to paint it in a good light anyway.
For sure. Just seems strange every starter on both sides were already out at that point aside from him. Rap is saying he was calling the defense but who knows.
I feel awful for Williamson but if an injury to an inside linebacker does us in, we never had it to begin with. Next man up.
We absolutely should have kept him for what he was being paid and his skillset, but let's not pretend like we'd be a-ok if we never traded him.
And not even our best ILB ar that. Still sucks badly....but bad injuries happen to every team. That's football. Next man up.
fucking pre-season blows. All I care about is avoiding the dreaded season ending. well, he's not in my top 10 of who we can't afford to lose but still he's a good player and it sucks for him.
