Lott was toward the end of his career if I remember correctly. I feel like he used to spear people a lot.
Yea, right. Kerry Rhodes was soft and was scared to play nasty. After only two seasons Jamal Adams is everything Jet fans hoped Rhodes would become. After only 2 seasons; Jamal Adams is the greatest Safety this franchise has seen. Kid is super special. Jim Leonard was solid. But that's it. Solid. But Jim Leonard could only dream of being as great as Adams. #33 is the most talented Jets safety I've ever seen and it's really not even close. Young and not even entered his prime yet but you can already tell after only two seasons this kid is going to be to our Safety position what Revis was to our CB position: Which is a Jets generational and an NFL cornerstone defender.
I loved Victor Green. That said, Jamal Adams, barring an injury, is going to be the best we’ve had - and it’s not going to be close. He’s special. Plays the run well - yep, consistently in the backfield. Plays man coverage well - yep, see his coverage on Gronk. Leads - yep. Has the ability to blend ego and humility as well as anyone. Intimidates - yep. Hits hard. Talks smack. Backs it up. QBs need to look out for him. Instincts - yep. Off the chart. Raw god given talents - check. Smart. Fast. Strong. I think Jamal Adams, barring injury, can end up being an all time great at the position. The rest of the Jets safeties don't really separate themselves from each other to me enough to figure out who was better. Kerry Rhodes is a homo.
Adams might already be the best. He is one of the best in the NFL at his position. Not sure the Jets have had that, but Green was definitely great too. Rhodes was disappointing. He flashed and then did nothing the rest of his career. Great at fashion shows though!
It has to be Adams now. Victor Green was the best safety in Jets history before Adams came along. Lott was way past his prime by the time he came to the Jets. Rhodes and Ray were flashes in the pan...
The choices NEED to be changed as there are guys on the list who don't even belong Mcmillan, heck I would put Kenny Shroy ahead of him and what about Jim Leonard if you are talking Lott at the end of his career ,their are guys who are not even mentioned (Baird and Owens ) ps putting Adams up after only 2 years is ridiculous. PSS how about Rich Miano lol
Yeah you’re right about Schroy. McMillan was great his first two years then completely fell off.....another Ray.
You know why JIM HUDSON is not part of the list of players to choose from???? Because the author of this thread never HEARD of him, that's why! Don't be adding names to choose from unless you know ALL the history. Your list has no integrity if you don't know a damn thing about the time BEFORE you were born. And you have the gall to put LOTT up on the list. That over-the-hill dude played for us for about 3 minutes! Give me a break.
