Phillies vs Diamondbacks Nationals vs Giants They have to take care of business against the Marlins. I’m trying to be optimistic.
Robbie Cano's hamstring strain turned out to be a tear. Too bad - guy's bat was starting to heat up. .
17-5 last 22, 2 1/2 out of the wild card. Need to beat the Marlins, since it gets a lot more difficult immediately after them.
I just hope this isn't fool's gold, it is a soft schedule. Diaz needs to be moved to 7th-8th inning duties, Lugo should be the full time closer moving forward.
24 of next 27 are going to be against the Nats,Braves, Indians, Cubs and Phillies. Majority being home games. I’m just hoping it isn’t going to be a case of it was fun while it lasted. lol The theoretical me is still trying to keep Pragmatic me at bay.
The test is going to be how deep our starters can go against good teams. If we are getting 7 innings out of them we are going to keep on winning.
We need our guys to go 7. deGrom, Thor, and Wheeler are pitching like aces right now. Rosario finally looks like he can field so our ground ball defense is going to get better for Stroman. Imagine if Matz could actually find some semblance of consistency.
Sweeping the Marlins is a big deal and shouldn’t be dismissed because they are a bad team. They were playing near .500 ball post All Star, not to mention we tend to lose to them no matter how bad they are. To sweep them reflects how well we are playing. 1 game out of the WC, and a good showing in the next two series can put the division in reach.
Ok, now it let's see what they are going to be made of. I'm gonna try to go to a couple of games. They are going to be home so much, I hope the fans fill up the ballpark!
Panik is as good as a move we could have made considering the point of the season. He just has to hit a little better to give us what Cano has given us all year prior to his hot streak.
On top of that, it feels good keeping a game on down by 3 in the 9th, knowing it’s a tall order but believing it’s worth watching to the end to see what happens.
