This is all very ironic (acquiring Khalil) because I just finished "All or Nothing - A Season with the Carolina Panthers" on Amazon. Watch the last episode if you have any questions about Khalil.
The alternative was Jonotthan Harrison. That is reason alone. Whoopsing upon a 5 time Pro Bowl center in his prime is a nice dream, but get real. Those guys don't become free agents.
Welp. Beachum back to the locker room with a foot injury. That excitement lasted what, a solid 20 hours? Time to call up the skins Joey D
Not what I hear from the radio guys. They seem to think that they’re set at CB and even discussed the Jets as a possible trade partner as a cb needy team.
Ha.... maybe in the world of PRO sports..... I went through Fire Fighter "school" at 36. (too bad I tore up my knee afterwards while trying to get hired on) Happy Birthday... I turned 45 last weekend.
Weird to think, you were 28 when you started posting on this message board. I started posting at 22, now I’m 38. Time goes too fast.
I couldn't agree more and understand that finding a center of that caliber on the open market isn't much of a reality, and I don't expect such a thing. I do understand that this is a "something is better than nothing" kind of move, and I applaud that aspect of it. It still doesn't bring me validation that this is the answer for a better solution, I would like to hope that this pans out, but I will wait and see how the chips fall first. I'm more skeptical than optimistic of this move, and just surprised that so many think this is the greatest move since sliced bread.
I think it's more a sigh of relief that Harrison is no longer the presumed starter at C than anything else. The previous GM did not give the OL the attention it deserved, so the current GM has to look at every option to improve it before the season starts.
There were younger options in FA that our failed ex-GM did not even court, of course. The best option is to keep drafting young talent at OL and have a constant rotation of players coming through. Hopefully the new guy gets it. I agree it's not the best case scenario, but it's also far from the worst case scenario, which we were basically dealing with.
