1.5 million. The rest goes to the states the away games are played. But I get your point. Then throw the high Sales and Property taxes on top.
This is not the place for partisan political nonsense. In fact, this is not the website for partisan political nonsense; that was put to its rightful end about a year ago.
Sorry everyone about the 'politics'. But remember when we are bidding for a FA, he can make 10% more by choosing a team in FL or TX than NY/NJ. I understand game checks are taxed in the state the game is played, so even a player from FL will pay 'some' high taxes. But all his home games and signing bonuses are are taxes by his home state (which in FL, is zero). So if a FA picks the Fish over the Jets, he automatically picks up a 5% to 10% adder. Teams from high tax states will always have to overpay to attract FAs.
A couple training camp notes, the last 2 of which are irrelevant but I find interesting 1) Practices will now start at 8:30 AM. Gase probably adopted that schedule in Miami to avoid the heat, but it’ll be nice to follow along with practice early and then just get on with the rest of the day. 2) In the spring the Jets looked really weird at practice because they were using the old shade of green in their jerseys but the new shade of green in the helmet. They’ve fixed it. 3) Why are the QBs wearing green? Seems like an unnecessary risk to not put them in an obviously different color like every other team. Hopefully that changes in the first padded practice.
The QBs wore black last year. Its what started the whole new unis thread off. Does seem a bit strange to see them all in green.
They’re just warming up, they’ll do 7 on 7s and team drills at the end of practice. I think they do 2 non-padded practices at the start of training camp in accordance with the CBA. Hopefully Sam is in red or black when the pads go on.
Sounds like Sam and Crowder have a nice connection. I can easily see 80 receptions for him this year.
sure we'll be picking up a CB off the scrap heap next month. Where is vance joseph when we need him! LOL
It's unbelievable that Mo Claiborne isn't signed and on the practice field. I know it was fun to rag on him here last season but the truth is he's a good CB2 option, ESPECIALLY when your current crop of CBs looks like that.
I’d be interested to see how the packages. Have to figure Mosley and Williamson are always on the field. Maybe Cashman in the slot to cover for the atrocious CBs? He is very fast and athletic.
he is not a good option. Claiborne is a liability. there are better options, people will get cut, trades can happen. Claiborne is washed up
