C.J. Mosley isn't used to being on a team no one believes will win. After years of sporting Baltimore Ravens purple and being predicted to make the playoffs, the linebacker took a huge pay raise to join the perennially downtrodden New York Jets. During offseason workouts, Mosley liked what he saw, and believes the football literati is underestimating Gang Green's chances in 2019, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports. "Now that we've got a new little mix-up, got some new people around and some new faces, we're all eager and we're all ready," he said earlier this offseason, via the team's official website. "We know the whole NFL is sleeping on the Jets, so we're ready to prove them wrong." The Jets overhauled the coaching staff, bringing in coach Adam Gase and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Gang Green also added the likes of Le'Veon Bell, Mosley, and Jamison Crowder in free agency, and snagged mammoth DT Quinnen Williams in the first round of the draft. The most vital part of the equation is quarterback Sam Darnold making a leap in Year 2. "I think we're eager," Mosley said. "Definitely young, and we know that. But as a group and collectively, we already know the people that have been here, the coaches that have been here and all they've heard since they've been here is we'll lose." Mosley said he signed in New York to lead the turnaround. "They always have been (doubters)," he said. "Even I was when I wasn't here. You've got to be honest. That's another reason I came here, I'm always about great tradition and what better city and what better state to come in and turn a great organization around and be champions." source: http://theredzone.org/Blog-Descript...--Mosley---Whole-NFL-is-sleeping-on-the-Jets-
Still convinced that if the Jets D stops Pittsburgh, our offense marches downfield and wins us the game like they did all season.
I still wonder about that - if the Jets got the ball back with under two minutes left and no time outs. Would they have been able to pull it off.....
You weren't alone...... I can remember being so pissed I debated not watching the second half ( being a baby ). I turned it back on just as Sanchez hit Holmes to cut it to 24-10 and being glad I put it back on. I remember the ups and downs of the 4th and goal failure, the safety immediately following and then the last TD and the defense failing twice to stop Big Ben........the Jets just toyed with us that final quarter.......
31st in pre season power rankings. Like the enthusiasm, but Mr. Mosley needs a reality check Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The team needs to win consistently to get respect from the media and fans of other teams. SOJ and Lol Jets exist for a reason. I'm cautiously optimistic that brighter days are ahead.
Our time is coming. The Fins had their run, the Bills had theirs, and the Pats are on the tail end of theirs. We're due.
Personally I don't think so. Our offense couldn't do a thing against the Pitt D until they called the dogs off and went prevent. They produced negative points in the first half, which was the main reason we lost. If it came down to one final drive, it wouldn't be against a soft D front.
The Jets overall talent has massively improved the last couple years. However, I'm sure non Jet fans would point to a promising but raw and unproven QB, and a HC with a poor history and resume. They are a bit of a wildcard, and respect has to be earned. Especially coming off of 3 dreadful seasons in a row. They'll have to prove it on the field before the league stops sleeping on them. Let's hope they do!
