Alas one of the (imho) best Yankee sites was http://riveraveblues.com/ which--wouldn't you know it--just closed up shop (their homepage is still worth a quick look-see). That site was very info-packed and with the deluge of early season injuries this spring and the "can't tell the players without a scorecard" fallout that ensued RAB was doubly good as it also featured a very comprehensive farm system section (prospects etc); and they were spot on in giving advanced notice as to whom was next in line in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre-to-the-Bronx shuttle. That said, now that RiverAveBlues is gone I came across this site https://www.pinstripealley.com/ - I should add that with both RvAveBlues and this pinstripealley site I didn't go the 'discussion' route on either site (just check-in for NYY updates) so I don't know the quality of fanspeak you'd encounter. Nice one matt - feel bad for the kid though. What's the eventual lineup now that Cashman's added the current AL HR leader to the mix and the other big boys are due back soon? Hope this doesn't turn into the 'Rob Deer' (400 HRs / 4,000 Ks) all-or-nothing All-stars............seriously though, exactly where's the hole in this lineup? : ) 1. D.J. LaMahieu - 3B 2. Aaron Judge - RF 3. Giancarlo Stanton - LF 4. The Kraken - C 5. Edwin Encarnacion - DH 6. Luke Voit - 1B 7. Aaron Hicks - CF 8. Didi Gregorious - SS 9. Gleyber Torres - 2B Gio, Gardy and Romine on the bench, spelling the regs, going in for late-inning 'D'. . Clint (tradebait for an arm?)..............Morales & Maybin = ??? . .
Here's a fairly new Yankees blog created by some of the RAB gang. https://viewsfrom314ft.com/ FWIW, strikeouts are up across MLB. Pitchers, especially relievers, throw harder than ever with movement. Judge and Stanton hit enough to make their high K totals bearable IMO.
No Didi in the lineup tonight. Its almost like Boone is afraid to run out all his big guns in the same game.
Not to be negative, but did anyone else think Wright was going to come in and get like 6 shutout innings because he's a knuckleballer?
What a mess. . Can't remember a less enjoyable win over Boston. . Chicken-shit "pitching scared" mound work all around. . And of course, another potential injury (Voit). .
Are you crazy? It was an awesome win yesterday. And looks like your Yankees will win again today. Red Sucks are shitting the bed in 7th inning.
. : ) It was a bloated, sloppy win but you're right, a win's a win esp. vs. Bos. Now they return home ......only to have to go to citi field to play the mets....zzzz....
I think the over/under for the first game was eleven or something and was jacked to fifteen for game two; both were blown away. Today MLB announced it would not go forward with its plan to schedule regular season games in Asia but would focus on doing that on a larger scale in Europe in the near future. Would it be totally unthinkable that balls used this weekend may have been a bit "livelier" than those used in the States or is there a possibility that the atmospheric pressure changes involved in shipping the balls to England may have affected their ability to stay in earth's gravitational zone? Remember that Brits are used to seeing scores in cricket of 121-86; could it be that Rob Manfred and company thought that maybe an increase in scoring would play well with the locals? Do I sound like a conspiracy theorist?
Aaron Judge with an absolute frozen rope: http://www.espn.com/videohub/video/clip/_/id/27128729/categoryid/4823314 .
