I am looking forward to seeing Polite. He could be the difference maker if he plays up to his full potential or he could be a bust. I personally feel that he is coming in with a big chip on his shoulders and will be a very good addition to the front 7. This year he will probably be a pass rush specialist & I hope he can be a full time player next year.

Q.Williams, as I'm hoping his play will surprise the doubters on here.

Sam by a wide margin. As FJF said, (no one else matters more), because as Sam goes, the Jets will go.

The player I'm looking to see the 2nd most is Q. Williams. I was against taking him, and I want to be proven wrong early. I want to see him getting consistent penetration, pressuring QBs, and stopping RBs cold in the backfield. He is closely followed by Polite since I really wanted edge rusher addressed in the 1st round with Allen. I hope that Polite is as good as advertised.

I doubt that we'll see that much of Bell in the preseason, although I'm really looking forward to seeing him during the season.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Wesco play and hopefully showing that he is a good receiver.

Sam as everything depends on him taking the next step. But my main concern with pre-season is the same every year....NO INJURIES.

  6. Sam..i wanna see a dynamic passing game capable of putting up alot of points & god forbid actually comeback to win down more than 3 points.

After that Quinnen.Hes either just another very good interior DL who makes minimal impact OR he sheds as many blocks as he did in colllege & hes a dominant force. Its one or the other.

I've gone Q. Whilst all we do really comes down to Sam, I expect the improvement, and so am not looking forward to seeing him as much. Same with Bell. High expectations which I fully expect to be met. Q on the other hand might play to a really high level and improve L Williams too...Q could really benefit the whole D in fact, Jenks, Mosely, Adams, Maye, the lot.

I've had some whisky tonight, so happy Donkey is out. No SOJ here. :)

    Darnold.

Nothing works out if he doesn’t.

I get the idea from GWilliams's comments that Polite will be a "work in progress." It sounds like he has a long way to go so preseason will be too soon to start passing judgement. Who knows? He may get some special teams work where he can "run around in his pajamas" and impress us a bit.

The next decade or of NYJ fandom hinges on whether or not Sam continues to progress.
We all hope that in 15 years, when all the other guys on this list have retired, we're still watching Sam lead this team to post-season victories.

I don’t really put much stock into preseason performances so honestly the thing I’m most looking forward to is seeing how the new unis look on the field

I didn't say who is the most important to the team, I said who are you looking forward to seeing play. I chose Polite because he is a total unknown with a lot of upside. I'm looking forward to see what he can do.

Burnett, if you guys remember Hansen completely disappeared after a good Mini Camp (bad TC to start) ... need to see Burnett continue to make plays.

    Bell.

    Darnold second.

To see them both on the field at the same time will give me such pleasure.

    So, to progress this thread,
    Offense- non Sam
Is Herndon, I love pass catching ,play making tight ends and I think Herndon is going to be a top guy soon.
Defense- Jamal. He is just a great watch.

I'll go with an unpopular choice and pick Harrison. His track record suggests he's a backup at best, but Gase has said good things about him and Darnold seems to have developed a rapport with him. He'll play a big part in Darnold's success or failure if he's indeed the one who will snap the football to Sam on a weekly basis.

I expect Sam to continue to progress so, the next most important question mark is: Is Bell still the same player after a year off? So if I could pick tow choices it would eb 1. Bell
    2. Darnold.

Hack, does it finally all come together for him ? Oh yeah, nevermind.....
Seriously, I would say Polite. He was a great college player, had possibly the worst combine ever, but his tape completely dispells his measurables.
I'm really interested in seeing if the player on film shows up vs the combine bust.
He's needs some refinement, but could turn out to be a very good OLB for us

Who are you quoting in your post?

Can you point me to G. Williams comments on Polite?

I believe he's quoting Joe Vitt
Around the 50 second mark. Of course all the players are running around in their Pajamas (no pads) and he conveniently left out the comment about size and working hard....
